wishing you a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR!

the NYE Soiree in the Stars event at The Highland Inn Ballroom went better than anyone could have hoped!  the place was packed with well-dressed 20-somethings all VERY excited to ring in 2013!

above you can see my co-host//lovely roommate and i are posing in our very own and my first photobooth! btw we completely DIY’d it.  we rented the equipment, bought a remote (which I needed anyways for blogging, yay!), and then hung up sparkly things.  after sifting through nearly 600 photos I ended up posting something like 415 on my LF Facebook page! sadly, I was too busy prior to and during the event to remember to take shots of all the DIY’d decor Chelsea and I made, but I managed to take a few snaps the day after.  here are highlights from the night.  see the full set on www.facebook.com/ladyflashback

aside from Chelsea running the Ballroom Events office, she is also an accomplished artist. she free-handed these letters and covered them with glass glitter.  plus, she also made the wall stars and cut out the planets.  we were both extremely pleased with how the decor came together, SOOOOOO MANY STARS!

we bought different shades and patterns of white and cream fabrics and cut them into strips, then tied them onto cotton rope, and viola! DIY’d FRINGE! thanks to Jessica and Mallory for assisting in that project!
NEWYEARZ
aaaaand just for fun thought I’d share one of the funniest photos from the night.  this is silly and ridiculous, but I’m fairly certain someone was egging me on…..cough cough….ELIZABETH!

it’s post-New Years Eve party planning, and I’m in full-blown-show-mode at the Mart.  cue one of the biggest Gift Shows at Americasmart. ++CUE ANXIETY.

wish me luck and again, Happy 2013!

thinkPINK

as mentioned in an earlier post i had the pleasure of teaming up with 7 other Atlanta Style Bloggers for the W ThinksPINK Cure on the Catwalk event on Sept 27th. We were each paired with a breast cancer survivor and given a specific boutique in Buckhead to “shop” for our model’s look. unfortunately my model couldn’t make it and poor Ebony of Fashionista Next Door couldn’t attend so i was paired up with her model and visa versa. they had picked out two looks and i got to choose the final outfit so in a way i was able to “style” a runway look :) here’s the press photos by Sara Hanna Photography and a few i snapped during the event.

the idea for this new collection came from the creative minds behind Fallen Arrows. a company who already recycles and reuses everything from old tee shirts, paper scraps and rags it was only a matter of time before they were recycling what they use most: INK.
all Wastage Wash tees are handmade in Atlanta and each one is a unique version of one of the three available pattern options: Splatter, Lilypads and Original. each comes with a Wastage Wash button and a Fallen Arrows sticker!
what’s better than supporting local artists?
HANGING OUT WITH LOCAL ARTISTS!
See You Tomorrow (i hope!)

similar interests

much like hair stylists, DJs, artists and musicians we photographers usually hang in the same environments so it’s no mystery as to how i have several pals that are into the same extracurricular activity as myself.
working my several jobs, being crafty at the art studio, getting in random pool time and hitting up the Atlanta party scene has been the gist of my July. though i haven’t gotten in a “real vacation” [YET] i have had many lil “get-away” weekends right here in my city-
and i’ve had friends around to capture some of the best times this month, via their similar interest,
photography.

Alternative Apparel PREview

last week Alternative Apparel hosted a small private party + preview for their Holiday 2011 & Spring 2012 lines. it was an absolute blast meeting the AA team, mingling with new Atlanta bloggers, FINALLY meeting Catherine of AsianCajuns in IRL-haha, dining on finger foods, and most importantly checking out the up-and-coming threads!
the team was very excited to share with us Alternative’s newest project, their very own lifestyle magazine – Common Thread

Here’s a few flicks from the event + some of my favorite pages out of the first issue of COMMON THREAD:

AA_1
-in the issue they also share details about the new LA retail store
AA_LF_4
-said finger foods included (but were NOT limited to..) lamb slidders
-one thing i noticed very quickly about Alternative is they love their succulents even the restaurant/bar they chose had it’s very own succulent garden
AA_2
-a peek inside the LA store, nice decor-right?!
AA_3
-inspiration board
AA_LF_2
-give me anything polka-dot!
-on the right they have their ipad case, made of the prettiest leather
AA_5
-i was so happy to see one of my favorite Atlanta shops featured in the issue, Young Blood Gallery! they deserve a million shout-outs, filled to the brim with the best indie arts & crafts and amazing jewelry it was somewhat unhealthy living across the street for 12 months…too good!
-as it turns out Alternative originated in Atlanta then ended up spreading it’s wings to Los Angeles
AA_LF_1
-Liz, my +1 for the evening
outfit details: total dork and wore my Pamela Love tee printed on Alternative Apparel…tehehe!
UrbanOutfitters leather shorts & leopard booties
AA_LF_7
-beeeeeautiful bags designed by new AA team member Mollie Culligan of Jack Rabbit Collections, such dreamy vintage-inspired leather
AA_LF_3

AA_LF_5
-two sweet hearts: Eboni of The Fashionista Next Door and Anastasia of Gamine

-the write up about Mollie Culligan and her awesome bags

i apologize for my tardiness of this post, the mart has been gearing up for the Apparel & Gift show which is now full-throttle meaning i’ve been working like a mad woman :( but i have treated myself to new dresses making it so worth it! also hit up Ladytron on Thursday night which was as stellar as i’d hoped it would be and more, definitely pleased the 18 year-old in me.

thanks again Alternative for the invite! i’ll be repping some of these styles in both the holiday & next Spring for sure-looooved it all-since the event i’ve worn my unisex tri-blend hoodie from the swagbags everyday [seriously.]

though i’m hustling in the showroom on this beautiful Saturday, have YOURSELF a wonderful weekend!
