GIBBS GARDENS

When you hear “20 million daffodils” you gas up the car and go!

And that we did, a few weekends back. While Dustin is a skeptic to believe there was actually 20 million, I’m terrible at math and am a believer, I mean, they just went on and on and on- as far as the eyes could see. With all the trees still in dormancy, the flowers really shined!

What I wore – Madewell overalls, thrifted Banana Republic sweater, Frye boots and Brixton hat

You’ve probably figured out my love for all things onesie- overalls, jumpers, coveralls- can’t get enough! Here are some great options if you’re looking to try for yourself or add to your growing collection, like me! In particular I gravitate towards overalls like the above Madewell or a classic Levis, but explore for yourself, more options, click here.

These were Dustin’s favorite, they were more petite than the others. Working on this post, I got curious. How many daffodil types are there? So, I Googled. Including hybrids, THERE ARE 13,000 TYPES! What?! That’s crazy! Not sure how many varieties we saw, but with “20 million” probably a lot! ;)

These were my favorite!

This is a “paperbush” tree aka Edgeworthia Chrysantha – how stinking cute?! Wish you could smell through the screen because those lil bushes are so deliciously fragrant. We had one for a while, but it recently bit the dust. Yes, even a blessed green thumb has casualties…

To quote D “I’m wearing my wife’s color palette now” haha but it looks good right?!

Gorgeous and easy trip outside of the city. There’s always something in bloom too – visit the gardens to see what’s fresh!

Next up, some exciting SALE news, details to follow!

TRAVEL FAVORITES

Been blowing up my IG with photos of Costa Rica times so I thought I’d do something a little different recapping our trip on here.

While we explored Jaco, I mostly lived in a swimsuit and coverup but did get dressed up once and got showered up a few times. See below for my favorite pieces I had on the trip and all the way at the bottom is the quickest recap I’ve ever done~!

TOWEL

TANK / SHORTS

DRESS / MULES (in black, brown is sold out)

DRESS / BAG (in lighter color, saddle sold out)

SUIT / (in black, green is sold out)

Couldn’t track this down to link but, I’m eyeing this ROMPER and THIS ONE in both red and mustard-gimme all the romps!

SLIP DRESS

Quickest trip recap I’ve ever done….and go….

We spent 6 days in Jaco, Costa Rica with Dustin’s family-there were 11 of us total! It was a super packed out week with a detailed itinerary keeping all of us on track for the activities we signed up for ahead of time. Organized by his awesome mom who made sure everyone had plans they could afford and were going to enjoy mixed with family activities (ie future Christmas card photos) and overall a trip of a lifetime.

On the way to our villa we saw dozen’s of crocidiles from a bridge-super spooky! That same day Dustin surfed-not near the crocs! He totally crushed it. I knew he would with his snowboarding skills.  The following day was Easter Sunday church followed by a sunset cruise.  Monday the guys and I went deep sea fishing- but sadly didn’t catch a dang thing! Next was zip lining through the jungle (I totally went upside down because they told me everyone did it before me, false! whatever-YOLO!), riding ATVs to a waterfall with his folks, cruising out to Tortuga Island where we snorkeled, hiked around and road a banana float that slung us off and visiting a monkey preserve and private beach. Aren’t you a little bit tired just reading that!? For the most part we cooked and ate in but one night got out for a fancy meal to celebrate a few of our birthdays.  We woke up early and went to bed early. The wildlife was WILD. We had two huge red parrots living outside our room, the ground was littered with crabs, frogs, iguanas-you name it! We saw sloths, fed monkeys, harassed crabs and the last night was frightened to see a 6f’ croc on the beach near our house! The vegetation was also out of this world. I could go on for days about the plants like the giant monsteras and species of palms I could never have imagined.  We only got a small taste of the Costa Rica and are set to go back and explore the Caribbean side.

Check out my Insta stories for more to all the above ~

WEAR 22

This lady right here can not get enough of all things one-piece!

Jumpers, overalls, rompers, two piece sets- gimme gimme!

Was on the search for the perfect vintage pair when I found these Levi’s on Etsy.  After some alterations, dream compete! Continue Reading

THE OPTIMIST + WEAR 18

For our Valentine’s celebration we got fancy in our neck of the woods hitting up The Optimist in Atlanta’s Westside.  Truth be told, we went earlier than we normally would so that I could capture everything. Dustin totally gets it though I’m not sure the people around us knew what was up… The atmosphere and presentation are just too stinkin pretty to experience a third time and not finally get some shots!

Madewell jacket and jeans, Baggu purse, Bussola boots

I wore a shirt I picked up while buzzed shopping in Santorini late one night. Def paid wayyyyy too much for it but I couldn’t get over it’s unique construction *keep scrolling for better view ;)

The restaurant has lots of seating options to accommodate whatever type lunch or dinner you’re trying to experience whether it’s hopping over for $1 oysters or throwing down to celebrate a holiday or special event. I’d like to go and hang on the oyster bar side which is less formal but equally as stylish as the big open side.

Ford Fry’s The Optimist brings a seaside fish camp experience to landlocked Atlantans. From fresh oysters from the Alabama coast and Maine sea scallops to whole roasted Georgia trout, guests enjoy high-quality, sustainable seafood from the country’s best suppliers. Tucked in an old ham-aging house, The Optimist serves up beer, wine, and handcrafted cocktails with hickory-roasted fish and raw oysters, while beach-food classics like hush puppies and lobster rolls transport you to your favorite coastal haunts.

EL CAPITAN | Amaras mezcal, Ancho Reyes chili liqueur, broVo chocolate, Giffard orgeat, lime, sea salt, star anise

First things first. WE LOVE MEZCAL. Yep, that needed all caps, it’s that much love. Both of us could drink it neat but when it’s offered in a cocktail-even better.

Much like our marriage, we shared everything <3 Started with oysters from the South and East Coast and Spanish octopus.

Look at that beauty └໒( ♥ ◡ ♥ )७┘ What… I didn’t keep that shell to take home and show Flynn (our cat)…and definitely didn’t put in with other shells and stones…

CHARRED SPANISH OCTOPUS | crème fraiche, marbled potatoes, chorizo, chimichurri

Not going to act like I’m some kind of rising food blogger chef star I’ll just say, nom nom nom! And add that the crispy grilled end was the tastiest part!

OPPORTUNIST PLATEAUX | oyster, king crab, shrimp, ceviche

This mahi and snapper ceviche was an explosion of flavor every*single*bite. I voted it and the lobster the best I’ve had of both ever and that’s saying something since I’ve had them in both Mexico and Greece! (humble brag much….)

Didn’t save room for dessert so we settled with a nightcap then went home and watched Lady Gaga music videos (sharing our glorious singing along skills on IG story) and sipped on champagne. Life is good with this one <3 *looking at you Dustin!

And because I couldn’t get dolled up (for me this is dolled, I’m pretty casual most days!) and not get Dustin to risk his life in a busy cut-through, here’s some more photos of my look:

See you again soon you delicious and beautiful restaurant youuu :*

and see you on Instagram <3
