Come on y’all, it’s time for a Wildwood Revival fest photo recap~

With heat even Satan himself would sweat in and cold drinks in tow, we did our first Wildwood real good.

Round two of Hangout Fest is under our belts! Since I wasn’t shooting fashion and performances this time around was way more chill.  Which was nice just enjoying music and all the things the festival had to offer like ride rides and chilling on the beach by the condo beforehand, something we didn’t do as much last year.

First day it rained in the morning, or should I say, hurrican’d!  I’m talking whistling wind and sideways rain.  We were so worried the day would get cancelled but the rain let up and the music went on around 3:00.

Security was NUTS checking bags and being jerks and as a result the line was ridiculously backed up when they finally opened. We waited for 2.5 hours missing the band we wanted to see the most, Silver Sun Pickups.  We ran to the stage to hear the last strum of their last song. It was a very sad moment. BUT, we rallied and took the couple of hours we had between sets we wanted to see to chill.

The fest had several spots to unwind, our favorite was Camp Hangout, which had these teepees and a fire pit.  Sitting by a fire next to the ocean and being able to see and hear music, doesn’t get any better!

Dustin found a pick-up kickball game that also helped to turn the day around.  Especially silly because in between the bases was a slip-n-slide!  Saw a couple funny whip outs, hahah.  In this photo he had just kicked the ball over the fence and got to 3rd, go D!

Day two, no rain and beach hangs!

We are in love with our new Pendleton towels!

Found these cuties at Target. Black swan is a bad influence :P

My happy place!

Wearing a Stetson hat and Free People cover-up

Q’s bike chain broke and so they rigged up this two seater-so funny trailing behind them!

We did a lot of watching from afar but for a select handful we wiggled ourselves up close, like Miike Snow! I’ve seen them 3 times now, Atlanta/Coachella/Hangout. Great performers.

Dustin and I seriously have a taco problem. 9/10 meals include some form of them.  Actually, we think it’s great, so not a problem at all! Bring on all forms of tacos!

Chilling down in Stella style~

Last minute I stopped at Junkman’s Daughter here in Atlanta for some fun hair dye.  Ended up buying blue and dying some strands of my recently highlighted hair that turned out pretty much green, but that’s cool, it’s so subtle. While I was there I found this awesome cover-up, loving how Grecian it looks.

I’d say we’re working on getting some Summer color but both of us are wearing 50-70spf, sooooo…..

My in-motion glamour shot hahah!

So fun! Didn’t go upside down, thank goodness, probably had too many Stellas for that but it did provide a nice breeze!

My girl Grimes! We watched from a little ways back but could see her and her awesome backup dancers moves.

Day three!

Rode the ferris wheel for a cool down and views. Emma winked at the guy running the wheel and he let us go around a few extra times!

Wore my new Free People dress and while it was very hot and sorta hard to walk in the sand in, it was totally worth it. Felt right dancing to Florence in as well. Her performance stole the fest!

Overall good time. We’re thinking next year we’ll just go to hang on the beach and listen from a bar or restaurant like some friends did. I’m not over music festivals by any stretch of the imagination but maybe done with Hangout. We’ll see, I said that after my first Coachella and went again and it was such a good time. This years line-up, for us, was just ok.  Missing Silversun, who we had our hearts set on to see up close and rock out to, sucked big time. The headliners interested us but usually we like the bands just below headliners and last year they kicked butt-Joywave, St. Lucia, Phantogram-but not as much this year.

Monday we took the day to do more beach chilling and rented a cabana before driving home- so worth the tired Tuesday!

Tonight we’re headed back to the beach for the holiday weekend. Whirlwind couple of weeks but bring on more sun and palm trees! Be safe everyone <3

While I was running in the sand between shows during Hangout Festival, I was multi-tasking and snapping photos of a bunch of barely dressed ladies but don’t worry, they are suitable for work! (SFW?)

Being on a beach for a festival was something you just need to experience. It’s different in a good way. I mean, what gets better than watching your favorite music alongside the beautiful beach front of Gulf Shores Alabama?!

As far as your wardrobe, that’s also different than other fests.  Most ladies, including myself, incorporated a swimsuit into each outfit.  However, I was surprised at the amount of ladies wearing regular clothes, like a light-weight dress or thin shorts.  Couple things that are musts are sunglasses and hats! Also topping the list are SPF and water-can’t forget those!

Spotted trends include: fanny packs, flash tats, and crochet tops.

These are my favorites, to see full gallery, check out this gallery on Paste Magazine.

Phew, what a crazy weekend and return back to work! We attended a music festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama and when I got back to the studio we began a video shoot I’m helping produce. Life’s been busy!

The fest was Hangout, a music festival started in 2010. I’ve been wanting to go but always ended up attending other fests like Shaky Knees or Music Midtown.

To say Hangout Fest was a freakin blast would be an understatement! For one thing, my gal pal Emma eloped over the weekend! This free spirit wedding was so her! *Sorry I’m not sorry for all the explanation marks, as you can see I’m very excited to share all this!

Check out her DIY’d shell veil and stunning ring!

Above: Quentin did real good with this vintage emerald ring!
Below:  Gifts I brought for the bride. A smokey quartz I picked up at Wigwam Fest thinking it looked like a finger and could be a wedding stone. A brass teepee is a terrarium I picked up from Urban Outfitters that can hold jewelry or an air plant. Lastly the ombre indigo napkins I made in the previous post.

I’ve gotten ahead of myself and skipped the parts before the wedding! Let me backtrack~

We got in late Thursday and the fest started on Friday. The first act we wanted to see was Joywave at 12:30. That’s a pretty early start to a long day in the sun and sand, but boy was it worth it-they were really fun! We saw them in Atlanta with St. Lucia and both Dustin and I got big time crushes on the band!

They are so energetic and engaged with the crowd, which is one of my favorite things at shows!

Dustin and I agree, they were our favorite performance!

This is what I wore:

Hat and sunnies: UO, shirt, and shorts: Free People, bag: Target, hanky: Dustin’s

The rest of the day was awesome, and then at 6:30 we met at the beach chapel the fest had set up for all the free spirit love birds who wished to tie the knot!

She made this bouquet from flowers around condo!

I’m so happy for you, Emma and Q; you two are a solid team!  So thankful to be able to be there for her semi spontaneous, part planned elopement!

When I was granted media access and then found out Emma was tying the knot, my heart was so full with gratitude that I would be able to capture her day!

Stealthy D on the first day. After this we didn’t bring anymore liquor hahaha; one day was enough!

I nicknamed these fried pickles “lava sticks” because they were the hottest things on the planet! Seriously we were amazed at how hot these were but once they cooled down they were real yummy, complete with ranch and Krystal’s sauce. Hangout had some good food vendors! We ate fish and chicken tacos twice from the same vendors.

Our BFF, shade!

The VIP area had these big bottles and small pieces of paper to write messages on, cue The Police’s “Message in a Bottle!”

Beautiful Emma walking to the fest wearing her veil the day after.

Exploring around the vendor booths. Along with having premo food stands the market area was packed with goodies.

Saturday we took a trip up the ferris wheel! Great views!

Cutest hippy kid that gave me a peace sign during Galactic.

Galactic is a funky jazz band who had Macy Gray as a guest performer, what a cool surprise! I’ve never rushed to a stage so fast!

Emma’s flash tats looked so good and they lasted the whole time and still look pretty good to this day!

St. Lucia was our second favorite performance. They also engage so well with the crowd, Again, major band crush!

This is what I wore the third day. That Free People dress I got from Shopbop. Everything else was repeated from day one.

A highlight of the trip was meeting up with Phantogram and snapping photos of Josh and Sarah before they went on the Palladia stage on Sunday night. I’ll share the photos soon, that is after Paste magazine uses them-whoop!

Here’s snaps of their performance which was our third favorite act (acts rated by day, not by favoritism)

Other non-mentioned bands we enjoyed were Foo Fighters (duh, Dave is hilarious), Cold War Kids, Major Lazer, Foster the People and so many more.

Since I’m currently typing this in a car traveling back to the beach, Daufuskie Island this time, I’m going to sign off! Everyone enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!

This past Thursday the Free People of White Provisions hosted a Pre-Shaky Knees / festival season kick off party.  The festivities included free local ice cream from The Queen of Cream, free locally brewed beer from Three Taverns, tote making by my favorite Native Bear, flower arrangements by Soul Flowers Floral Cart and of course, shopping!  I attended with camera in hand and snapped away —

We got this brew for my birthday keg, it’s my absolute favorite!  High-gravity while still on the lighter, crisp side with just the right amount of hops.. yum yum!

Spear sisters, Emma (left) the store manager and Sarah (right) curator of blog and Instagram Cool Atlanta who co-hosted the party. They are not only the best dressed sisters but also the sweetest!

Went home with a handful of swag but my favorite was this tote made right in front of me by Leela of Native Bear!

Even though we didn’t go to Shaky Knees, it got me pumped up for this weekend’s Hangout Music Fest in Gulf Shores, Alabama! Love us some music festivals! Now to just get through this work week…
