i know i say this somewhat often, but this might be one of my fav outfits, or at least summer time outfit. i rarely wear this top for obvious reasons but with the high-waisted shorts, didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. this vintage Kenneth Cole backpack is probably my FAV PURSE OF ALL TIME. and that aint no joke, it’s so convenient and the perfect shade of brown, it goes with me everywhere!

I need YOUR opinion !!

Bizznass Cardz
i am in the process of getting business cards created and in the first stage i’ve hand drawn a couple ideas and really want to know your opinions. keep in mind i drew all these with markers and couldn’t go back and correct errors, so they are a little rough! ((don’t judge me!)) this is also a sneak peak of a new logo//theme for the upcoming NEW blog layout!
please let me know your favorite(S) and any suggestions you may have. i very much appreciate it in advance!

Red White && Broke

hello lovelies!
hope your weekends were fantabulous! mine included a overnight trip to Charlotte, NC for a friends wedding. guess my “I Wish Wednesday” wish came kinda true after all! gotta see many many familiar faces and spend time with the mom and bro! the wedding itself was gorgeous and between two friends who didn’t actually start dating till after high school-which is pretty neat! my brother was the best-man and gave a toast to remember! fun times no doubt!!
i wanted to share another outfit from the APG shoot, which is a vintage dress i bought at Rag-O-Rama and gave a patriotic twist!

my friend josh, who provided the van had all these fun ‘props’ in the back that we all took advantage of: skateboard, old radio, a fun old suitcase && cold Miller High Life!
hope you enjoyed another fun set of photos from the ever so talented local photographers, thanks guys!

I Wish Wednesday

my wish for this wednesday is…

to be closer ((both in distance && connection)) to my old friends.
i wrote about Liz previously [here] and this is part 2 of her visit to here in Atlanta.
we hung out a good bit hitting up the Bodega Pop-up Sale, grabbing dinner & drinks, going to the awards ball and kicking it around my new place BUT my favorite time spent was def dancing it up at Down & Dirty via The Graveyard Tavern.
i knew that ‘back in the day’ we liked to wiggle our way near the stage and throw down but having not seen someone for nearly 5 years you just don’t really know how things will be..well much to both of our satisfaction we are still very similar in many ways and STILL love to bust some silly moves! which is what we did all night long, in our semi-coordinated outfitZ!

felt self-conscious for all of 5 mins. then really fell in love with this outfit and got over my insecurities. with a little help from mr. jack daniels. shhhh.

it was a long day and even longer night so don’t judge my end state of wretchedness!
hahaHA!
big reason why it is so hard to stay connected and see my friends from previous years//states is that i’ve relocated a crazy amount of times. dad was a pilot in the US Air Force literally from birth till graduating high school and now flies for Southwest Airlines, so i was forced to uproot every 1-3 years..putting me in 12 different states by 2004. i didn’t mind it, infact, LOVED moving ((most times!)) but it does complicate relationships. i’ve kept up with the friends that really count i guess, but still would love to be closer to others for sure!
moral of the story?
make new friends, but keep the old
one is Silver && the other’s Gold
happy hump day y’all !!

on Wednesday i met up with a friendly photographer named Cameron who recently relocated to Atlanta from Chattanooga. previously he’s managed the blog Chattanoogan and has now started up Atlanta Street Fashion, which i think is fabulous! atlanta has many fashionistas out there that do not get recognized and it’s time some light is shed! Cameron and i ran into one another at my friend Kareem’s bike shop striking up conversation about fashion//blogs//bikes afterwards we decided we should schedule a shoot, and my am i glad! the photos turned out really lovely ((minus the fact i totally curled my hair and it fell INSTANTLY, damn this humid southern heat!)), he’s got a good eye and wasn’t afraid to run around the streets to get the perfect shot. the photos were taken in Virginia-Highlands, one of the cutest neighborhoods in all of ATL!!
i like his write up so much i want to go ahead and post here:

A chance encounter over vintage bicycles resulted in
shoptalk about a mutual interest in fashion blogging.
Odd how gossip begets gossip. From bikes to looks,
what do idle bloggers have to say for themselves?
“My mom was into yard sales and took me along,”
she told me of her life long interest in thrifting and
bargain shopping. “I remember in fourth or fifth grade,
my friends had an event to bring together and trade
things we didn’t want, girly things and knick knacks.”
Now she shares her finds and tales of Atlanta living with
the followers of LadyFLASHBACK. It’s a fitting name for
someone who draws inspiration from the past while
illuminating the present as both photographer and model.

post can be viewed
i’m also really excited to show off my “new” wheels. the bike was donated to me in very poor condition, but with the help of Kareem it’s now up and running and i’m in LOVE! i’ve never ridden a road bike ((nor a single-speed)) before so my first cruise was a bit nerve-racking but i quickly got the hang of it and have been biking all over town with my vintage beauty.

special thanks to Kareem!

Happy Weekend!
