Another notable obsession of mine is the hoarding of awesome stickers. I have been a sticker lover since birth then with the invention of Lisa Frank and sticker books it was only intensified. Doesn’t matter the shape/size/color if it resembles a sticker it’s going in my collection. I always knew it would take something really awesome to come along that would force me to let go of my collection, and that something is a trunk I found back in October.
While heading to do some volunteer work cleaning the Cahaba River Dusty, Andrea, and I got extremely lost and wound up in the middle of the Talladega Forest. After wasting hours and missing the clean up we decided to go garage sale searching since it was a Saturday and found a couple that just didn’t produce anything good. Before calling it a day we stopped by the Moundville Flea Market and I came across the trunk (below) filled with baby clothes that didn’t appear to be for sale. After asking the kind lady she informed me it was $15.00 and from then on it belonged to me. All it needed was a little TLC and a slight face lift. . .
//vest:Vintage, dress: Patagonia, necklace: Bonnaroo//
I was kinda sad sticking them to the trunk but quickly got over it when the project was finished because it looked so cool.
I would love to explain each and every sticker but I had my first ‘work’ day (tutorials galore!) and want to r.e.l.a.x. which means MOVIE TIME!

February 18, 2009 at 8:12 amGreat DIY work! Well see — those stickers came in handy. I love that you still love stickers. I used to have a sticker book and used to fill it with sparkly ones, suede-y ones, and scratch and sniffs.

February 19, 2009 at 12:47 amEeek! Lisa Frank! I was a sticker fiend. I would constantly count them, trade them, and not stick them on anything!! lol they were all in photo albums and rarely stuck onto anything.

February 27, 2009 at 10:08 pmHi! I am a 21 year old going to school for advertising and I noticed that you have listed that as your career field. I was just wondering if you have any advice about what particular classes to take, where or if you went to college, what your major was, where you find inspiration, etc. I am going to school particularly to be an art director in advertising, but I am interested in the business side as well as public relations. I usually don’t ask off the wall questions such as this to strangers, but you are the first female blogger other than myself that I have come across that was in the advertising field. You can email me directly at elsiepoesy@gmail.com
Thank you in advance, and I love your blog!

March 5, 2009 at 5:06 amI have a sticker tin myself. It’s an old curve perfume tin that I bought for a boyfriend at the time and totally gave him the goodies, but kept the tin for myself. In it, I keep all my BEST stickers, I mean, I have several stashes, but this tin does also include those coveted Lisa Franks (yep, still have them), some Pier 1 limited edition from when I worked there and lots more. You rock.
