Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and long weekend! We got in last night from our getaway with Dustin’s family on Daufuskie Island. The weather was perfect for our packed schedule of family activities and for exploring around on golf carts. We stayed in a house with 3 children under 5 years old so needless to say we could have used more sleep but overall a fun trip. Glad to be back and to get the house ready for the fast approaching CHRISTMAS!
I’m sure food is the last thing on your mind, but I wanted to share our favorite restaurant from our honeymoon (yep, still talking about it, haha!) We did a lot of good eating while in Tulum but the one place that stood out, not only for the food but for the atmosphere, was Casa Jaguar.
Tucked in the jungle with no roof cover, they rely on the weathers cooperation for dinner service. We found this out the hard way when we first visited but made it a point to return on a clear night and I’m glad we did!
I didn’t get a ton of photos (mostly because it was closed when I took these before we caught our flight and I didn’t want to snoop too much) but you can get the gist of how awesome this little spot is!
We got the ceviche appetizer and shared an entree. The menu is different on their site then what we had at the restaurant but the main course was a catch of the day with two sides-corn and salad. Just the right amount of food!
The other restaurant we were really fond of is Posado Margarita. Unfortunately there wasn’t time in our schedule for me to return to take photos during the day but it’s a must visit!
Italian food in Mexico wasn’t the first thing I had in mind-tacos were usually on the brain-but I’m glad we tried it out. They make their own noodles fresh daily and had really interesting cocktails. This is where we tried mezcal for the first time, big fans! There’s also a boutique and candle shop. Really good vibes and a friendly staff.
One last honeymoon post coming up, photos of Coqui Coqui, a beautiful hotel that doubles as a perfumery!
