Last August I did a shoot with the Atlanta Photographers Guild and it went so well that I’ve decided to team up once again and head to Elliot St for another go around! Pretty pumped about my outfits too, one in particular was purchased for the occasion and I think you all will be quiet pleased, I mean it includes GOLD HOT PANTS, who wouldn’t love///right?!?! Previously I had posted two different sets of photos but there are still ones that I love that you all never got to see so here are a couple more of my favs::::::::

Electroport//LadyFLASHBACK!

first things first, if any of you have been experiencing difficulties with Hippie Frou Frou it’s due to some changes that are in progress. i.e. I BOUGHT A DOMAIN! giving the ol’blog a facelift as well as changing up the name. thought about this for some time and feel that the current name just doesn’t represent me as well as it used to. new name: LadyFLASHBACK.com
like the way it sounds as well as represents my love for photos and also my inability to post anything in a timely manner and am constantly “flashing back” to previous memories.
i have been told it will automatically direct my readers over as well as transfer my stuff, we’ll see, should be happening tonight! bought it late on Monday evening and google said at most 3 days, cross your fingers for me!
speaking of flashbacks, i realized that i never posted photos from the first Electroport to the ORIENT at MJQ. it was a fashion show [styled by Recollection Vintage], dance party [4 djs!], AND COSTUME party! free cover with an asian, steam punk, or futuristic outfit. best believe i pulled out the trusty space girl suit!! let the roomie borrow my mini vintage kimono and we partied till the break of dawn-literally.

i broke my lazzer wand at some point in the night, or day. i know it was towards the end. it lived a good life…been on the hunt to replace ever since and just cannot find the exact match. such a bummer, it always made people so happy.
Electraport 03-20-10 27_001
this night was actually kind of destructive, not only did the lazzer wand bit the dust but after taking nearly 300 photos that night-no joke!-my memory card got corrupted and died. no explanation either, didn’t drop didn’t do ANYTHING other than the normal overload of photo taking…which it should be used to by now…bottom line, i lost all photos, but luckily OhSnapKid took loads that night and i just so happened to be around the lens!

incase you’re wondering what “steam punk” looks like, this is a pretty good example. according to wikipedia it’s:
a sub-genre of science fiction and speculative fiction, frequently featuring elements of fantasy, that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used — usually the 19th century, and often Victorian era Britain — but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wellsand Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date.
pretty neat stuff!!

LASTLY, this interesting asian-fusion chick//the hair creations were so interesting, and i know 1st hand it can be painful, but these girls rocked it out! such a fun fun night, really hit up Atlanta like rock stars and STILL have bruises to prove it! ugh, was dancing on the runway//stage after the fashion show was over and fell off, bahah, injuring my knee cap and bruising my shin so badly i still have two lumps with blue spots, it’s kinda sick. but i played it off and no one noticed, so that was good, but yea-that night was N/U/T/S!
this weekend is Electroport to the Ancient Empire of the Aztecs-yay for feathers, face paint and more costumes!
again, hope everything goes well with this transition and i SUPER HOPE i don’t loose any of You All! please stay tuned for more updates, it’s only going to get better from here!

Filmage Part Two

A2
cruising around in Ash’s convertible I snapped this photo hanging out the side, funny how it turned out so clear and others where I was on stable ground turned out blurry!
B2
vintage shopping while both wearing vintage shades && jackets.
[taken with Holga 35mm Lomo film]

the Holga film is kinda a sad story, I had taken 36 photos but accidently exposed some of the film and so I only was able to get 5..(two of the photos in this .Coachella. post)..but I am thrilled with the ones that did turn out so I guess it’s bittersweet.
literally had to go back and see if I had already posted my instant film and since I hadn’t thought they too should be included! months ago while shopping at Urban I found a Diana F+ instant back on sale and simply couldn’t resist. my only beef is that you must have TONS of light for the photos to turn out, many photos have been wasted figuring this out, my next purchase is def going to be a flash!
D1
peek-a-boo!
GS
best billboard ever!! it reads: GUN SHOW//got harassed for my phone number while snapping this photo, totally worth it!
D3
while it caused lots of congestion grief the pear tree blooms were very pretty!
D4
graffiti over on Northside, kinda washed out but I like nonetheless!
D5
interesting turn out..
BB
yea, really couldn’t get enough of this tree!
well, that’s the end of my film for now. took the frame out of the Diana and will have more instants soon as well as 120mm. trying to pick out the next type: expired, color splash, negative..so many choices!

Filmage Part One

//so I’m at the beach with my family, Alligator Point [FL], and we’ve got a little gap between dinner and going out shark fishing and I thought I’d share some of my Diana F+ film. as usual I’ve been meaning to post and have had it developed && scanned for some time but somehow forgot about the beauties. I developed 2 rolls of 120 mm and 1 roll of 35 mm ((to be shown later)) and only got around 20 something photos total, maybe less [live && learn!] I have chosen some of my favs and will share them in this post and a post to follow…

A7

A14
and lastly another shot from mine and Ashleigh’s day spent in the cemetery. taking shots with the Diana requires a steady hand and after a couple mimosas that sometimes doesn’t exist :))
wearing: vintage dress, holding: vintage Polaroid

//the fam and I are having so so much fun, even though we had to relocate the vacation due to the oil spill reaching our original destination Orange Beach//Gulf Shores..such a sad situation! we’ve only been here since Saturday and have packed in so many activities, and let me tell you, you’ve got to be creative around here…not much going on besides the ocean, fishing, and good ole family time! oh and TONS AND TONS of crabs! dad has made some delish pina coladas, margs and brought along his home brews so needless to say we brought the party..haha! today we’re going on the second night fishing trip and hopefully it goes a little better then yesterday
have a good week everyone, sorry you all can’t be hanging with this burnt lady!

Atlanta Streets ALIVE!

back in May, the ladies and i hit up Atlanta Streets Alive for the 1st annual ‘free health and community-oriented event’ in the heart of downtown. we grabbed our bikes, packed up some brews [not exactly ‘healthy’ per say…], made SURE to grab bubbles and set out on an all day adventure that no one wanted to end!!

[Mwah, Kat, Ash]
DSCN0250
def brought the SPF, that day was BLAZZIN!
DSCN0276
//AAAA//
DSCN0259
Bikes! Bikes! Bikes!
DSCN0247
the route was just under 2miles and that was n.o.t. enough! we made our own path through all of downtown ending in Centennial Olympic Park and then grabbing a DELISH meal at No Mas cantina.
DSCN0288
bubblershhh wand!
DSCN0296
we make rainbowz//
DSCN0279
there were activities going on it all directions, biking/roller blading/scootering/walking/dancing/hula hooping/running/yoga’ing/break dancing! there were communal hula hoops that the girls and i Def partook in!
DSCN0309
watch && learn!

these hula’s were made from irrigation pvc and grippie tap, which i plan to DIY for sure!! the weight of them made it much easier to keep up, a little better at it then i would have thought which made me very happy! love any new item to add to dancing!

the event plans to get grow and become a weekly critical mass which to me, sounds like a great idea for locals! they are modeling this after other countries’ successful gatherings like Bogotá, Colombia’s Ciclovia. so exciting to watch a city grow right before your eyes [such a cheeese ball!] but i really do love this place!

*E/d/i/t*
i must tell you all that a decision has been made lately that is kinda huge. in the last post i mentioned moving to San Diego, but things have changed. after thinking very hard over the last 1.5 months which is how long this had been planned…setting things nearly in stone…i’ve decided to stay in Atlanta. this is for many reasons but just to name a few: my friends! my family! ((all just under 4 hours distance)) and THIS CITY. not quite done with Atlanta && after only one year, i’m just getting started! so i’ll be in Atlanta for a bit after all if any nearby bloggers *cough COUGH* want to meet up!
