TALKING ART

this is a bit out of chronological order but we shall just call it a “flashback” since it was Aug 22nd when I went out to dinner and art gallery hopping with some friends. documented mine and Elizabeth’s outfits along with a few snaps around the galleries in the West Side area and Poncey Highlands.

after Kai Lin we went to BEEP BEEP to view my roommate Chelsea Raflo’s exhibit which was showing from the beginning of August till now (show is about to come down). her and Mike Germon collaborated on a mixed show of some independent pieces along with a joint-effort mural in the back.

recognize the tiny person above wearing the ASOS Alice in Wonderland style dress? IT’S ELIZABETH from the above pics (with a lot more hair…this was pre-pixie cut obv..)! months ago, Chelsea and Eliz did a shoot together and Chelsea cut out some frames and used the stills of Eliz for one of the videos and then reused them in the dual effort collage, hoping we get to keep some of these around the house after the show comes down!

don’t know about you all but I’m glad my labor day weekend was chill. I desperately needed to catch up on some house stuff, freelance stuff and LIFE stuff.
good luck with going back to work tomorrow!

Blogger Brunch

after taking Monday evening to recoup from the weekend and get things together for the week (which most people do Sunday night, however, usually I’m still having fun!) I’ve put together the photos from the blogger brunch Natalie of Pocket of Presh, Kelly of R-Ki-Tekt and I had on Saturday in White Provisions. we met at the yummy West Egg and caught up on our busy lives and THEIR BABIES that are on the way-yes, they are BOTH pregnant! this is Natalie’s first and it’s too early to know the gender and Kelly’s second child but first boy-so happy for both of them! it was fun chatting about baby names, pregnancy stuff (yes, I find this interesting and not weird at all!) and we even went to the cutest kid store called Seed Factory. we also dropped by the Free People and SimplyPut. here’s what we wore:

I love how we all three wore complimentary patterns and colors! even though we all took pics of our brunch I didn’t take any with my fancy camera-just iphone for Instagraming-oh well, it was YUMMY!

so Elizabeth, how did you score a TOMS bike?
It’s a special edition made for TOMS employees as a gift this past Christmas!

what is it that you do for TOMS?
I am the Southeast Retail Marketing Coordinator. I work with TOMS retailers in my region to get them trained on our company and products, get stores marketing and display materials for seasonal campaigns, organize and execute Style Your Sole events and be the eyes and ears of what’s going on at the retail level in my 7 states!

STYLE SPOTLIGHT:

meet Elizabeth
& her new pastel hair:

Elizabeth lives in a 1960’s carriage house apartment tucked away in the Virginia Highlands. When she’s not hitting the road (or sky) visiting accounts for TOMS..she’s decorating, cooking or catching up with friends. Her personal style is much like her abode: eclectic and improvised with nods to eras past. When I think of a someone who takes unique pieces and turns them into fashionable outfits and layers like a pro, I think of Liz!
see for yourself, below are photos we shot around the shopping and bar district in the VA Highlands as well as a few questions to get to know this fashionable Atlanta Lady:

What’s your secret to great finds?
Keep an open mind! You never know what you’ll find in that thrift store you always pass or at a big-box retailer’s sale. I never count anywhere out!

Who’s closet would you most like to borrow from?
To be honest…. any of the Olsens’.

What is your fashion faux-pas?
I tend to over-accessorize. I just get excited about several pieces at one time! I’m always reminding myself less is more.
