hidden below the Hilton Atlanta downtown is Trader Vic’s, a tiki lounge and restaurant with a Polynesian-meets-Elvis Presley-meets-Hawaii family vacation vibe. they have a long list of Island drinks served in sea shells and delicious food prepared by Chef Cheing Phour. I’ve visited the bar area twice before, once was for this years birthday and I blogged about it (here) and another time was also for a friends birthday. it’s a great spot for birthdays or a night on the town and pretending that you’re going out to eat on a beach vacation. Dustin and I had the pleasure of sampling appetizers with some of Atlanta’s food bloggers and learning more about the history of the restaurant and even how to make a Mai Tai! I kept to my usual mojito and lived vicariously through all the pretty fruit adorned cocktails while noshing on my favorite: coconut shrimp!

this is the flower crown I started making at V+VJJZ but finished at home. materials came from Michael’s, old flower leftovers from project #1 for Common Creativ and a few are from Jess Jones’ crown leftovers, a smorgasbord if you will!
outfit side note-I’m excited to style this skirt in a different way. preferably with heels and maybe a crop top. the peplum detail is really fun and flattering for my figure but makes choosing a shirt more of a challenge-or at least with my wardrobe. I knew diving into the peplum scene wouldn’t come as natural but I’m into trying out something new!
thanks for having us Trader Vic’s! city “vacation” night anyone??
