as many bloggers out there are sporting ombre’d shorts and trying the technique at home it wasn’t hard to find tutorials explaining the process. i found that many ladies were just dipping them into the bleach then trying to give a fade manually. going back to my days of tie-dying i thought using rubberbands would give a nice fade effect and as it turns out..it does!
it was quite easy, read about it on CommonCreativ in further detail!
sidenote: on CC i used orange dye around the top of the ones shown above, later i rebleached…dyed them a denim color and then redyed. i just wasn’t TOTALLY in love with the yellowish look and therefore kept changing it up until i got it exactly how i wanted and now i have a “new” pair of shorts i love!
don’t be afraid to experiment, you never know.. one step could take you to another step which could lead to a delightfully wild outcome!
if you are an Atlanta blogger, i’m looking forward to seeing you tonight at the Atlanta Style Bloggers one-year Anniversary Party at Whiskey Blue!
if you are an Atlanta local, i hope to run into this weekend during the Dragoncon festivities, i’ll be with Indiana Jones!
happy almost weekend,
