While browsing through my photo library I realized I never posted the few pictures I took of the items purchased from Kentuck (the annual art festival).*****
I’ve got 1/2 the world, on my head.
The artist behind this wacky folk art is Robert “Frito” Seven,
who I actually met at a music festi in NC a couple of summers ago.
He is a really kind guy based out of Ashville, NC and a very talented artist.

This lovely screen print was made by a fellow named Amos out of Gordo, Alabama.
He is very skilled and extremely blunt, hehe.
Last year I bought two prints and gave one to a friend for Christmas, this year I bought two and kept them both (other print not pictured).
I really enjoy his work a lot, and it’s very reasonably priced.

The other really fun deal with Amos is that he lets everyone who buys a print actually screen print a bag of their own with his enormous machine he brings along. I thought this years bag was perfect, and completely describes my feelings towards politics.
This year, due MOSTLY to complications, I am not voting. kind of a bummer, but really I just don’t care for either.

I have zero recollection of their artist who created these cards but aren’t they grand!? There must be 10 or so different mediums used in each card and pressed together to create a beauty. Don’t know when I’ll every use them seeing as how I usually hold on to objects like these for a while before letting them go.

Hope everyone’s Tuesday is superb!

Weekend Recap

Currently still recovering from the throw down this weekend. Thursday I went as Harry Potter to a huge house party with hired security, couple of bands, and tons of good people. I wore the Gryffindor cape/robe that I found at a thrift shop, vintage wig, costume glasses, and a scarf that my gal pal Beth Ann knitted me! It was stellar, see for yourself:

The following day (Friday) Dusty and I worked on his Beetlejuice costume for about 2 hours and also my Lydia Deets costume. Since I owned a lot of my costume already I only had to sew a vial together from tulle and lace and it was complete. For the Beetlejuice attire we had found a second-hand black suit that I painted stripes to match Beetlejuices‘ from the movie. We had watched the flick a couple of days before to get ready for the night and paid close attention to Beetlejuice and Lydia Deet’s outfits.

Hanging with Greta is a form of relaxation I partake in most afternoons. Now that it’s getting quit chilly it’s a little less enjoyable, but seeing as how we haven’t had heat yet, I suppose it’s the same as being inside. (S.R.E.A.M.)

Wish I could still be on one of the glorious bike rides that were taken over the weekend.
sigh.

(STS9 is the following weekend, and I’ve been pumped for quit some time!!)
