with recent rainy days upon rainy days and random periods of cold fronts that make you question which month it is, my wardrobe has experienced some backtracking resulting in returning to Fall pieces. for example, these two-tone Anthropologie slacks, part light wool/part cotton blend that I wore two weekends ago while hanging out in the White Provisions area paired with some of my favorite recent on-sale scores. these slacks were just $19.99, bag was $60 (and I used a coupon for $15%) and top was $39.99, gotta love some deals!
speaking of, I know I’ve admitted this several times but just for good measure I’ll say it again: I LOVE A GOOD BARGAIN. while I wish I could buy full priced pieces from shops like Madewell, Anthro, Free People, Jcrew, (INSERT SO MANY MORE HERE…) I just, can’t. even if the funds are there and I’ve convinced myself I “deserve” something new and amazing for one reason or another, I still go for the deals. looking back, I suppose I have my mom to thank for instilling this in my brain as she wouldn’t buy things full priced and insisted that “it’ll always go on sale” and she’s right. I’ve worked in many retail stores and saw this for myself so I usually follow that golden rule while shopping but oooooccasionally treat myself to a full priced item every now and again..

FARMERS MKT

farmers
whether you’re into local or international, Atlanta has a farmers market for everyone. if you’re from around here chances are you’ve probably hit up Your Dekalb Farmers Market in Decatur which is a HUGE international market that has everything from live fish to yummy foreign beer to brand name organic goods. I like visiting both the permanent one AND the little seasonal pop up markets that are hosted in various neighborhoods. two of my favorites are the Grant Park and East Atlanta Village Farmers Market. I’ve discovered new produce, met and made friends, sampled local cheeses and taken home delicious produce. last Thursday and Sunday I snapped some pics at both spots

FESTIVAL FASHION

being that Shaky Knees music fest was rainy and very very muddy the conditions for fashionable attire were non-existent but a couple’a ladies (and a few gents) gave it their best. denim, parkas and hats could be seen on many and MOST were wearing boots of some kind. took the majority of these photos on the second day when the sun came out to say hello for a bit…but here’s a small recap of both days!

and so it begins, the start of FESTIVAL SEASON, can I get a yayyyyyyyy?!?!

though I didn’t make it to Coachella again this year I’m always stoked to scour the internet for my favorite festival outfits. I was waiting till both weekends were over to collect as many looks as possible but as it turns out the best outfits were from Weekend One and I actually had a hard time even finding photos from Weekend Two…

after narrowing them down to my faves, I can say this year, much like all the other Coachella weekends did NOT disappoint! thanks to all the StreetStyle photographers out there capturing what we non-attendees can’t see for ourselves!

per usual I’ve paired together similar looks/color pallets/accessories/etc that I noticed were “trending” among the fashionable ladies, for example flower crowns or matching two-pieced outfits.

personally when I attend a festival it’s all about comfort and dressing practically for the weather conditions, especially since I usually camp (not to be confused with GLAMPING!)  so heels and white bottoms wouldn’t be my go-to but I do appreciate the effort that goes into Coachella.

speaking of getting excited for music, Atlanta has many’a festivals coming up, one of which is this weekend-Shaky Knees Festival-that I’ve been given a press pass to shoot this Saturday! Band of Horses is headlining and I couldn’t be more excited to cover the event! going to try and capture a few festival fashion shots of concert-goers if that’s possible around here, hahha, not saying ATL doesn’t have style but it’s certainly no Coachella..   other festivals heading our way in the next couple weekends are Party in the Park (Passion Pit, Yeasayer, Elle Goulding) and Jazz Fest (FREE! Memorial Day weekend)

get excited party people, SUMMER + MUSIC is on the way!

wore my cap (duh.) Kensie dress and other accessories I wear on the daily.
