black, white and khaki

12804354235_81bee9b229_bI don’t know about your city but Atlanta’s temperatures have plummeted once again.  We had another cold front roll through and it feels like we may not get Spring for a little while longer.  I’ve seen it snow in March in Alabama so I try not to get my hopes up with warmer days until around April. This outfit is from a few weekends ago when Dustin and I went shopping around Atlantic Station. We each splurged at H&M getting basics and the pieces we wore on Valentines Day.

Currently on my last lunch break at the Mart. My boss couldn’t make it in today so I’m holding down the showroom fort solo, a bit anti-climatic if you ask me but I’m definitely happy for the new beginnings to happen on Monday!

12762307055_431fdf5957_bHope everyone’s week has gotten started on the right foot. I’m in the midst of wrapping up my last week of work before starting a NEW JOB! Next Monday I’ll be working at Indigo Studio as their office administer wearing many hats and handling many roles. I’ll be doing everything from office duties to renting camera equipment, helping on shoots, organizing and hunting down props and assisting the producers and CEO. I’m extremely excited for this new chapter of my life!  While I’ll miss the little family I’ve built working at the mart and designer studio for the past three years it’s time  to move on and is actually quite overdue.   My current boss’s are very happy for me and know that this is a step in the right direction for my future. Wish me luck!
12762444463_aba03de686_bI’m wearing an Urban Outfitters jacket, Pamela Love for Lucky Magazine shirt, H&M skirt, Sam Edelman boots, Kate Spade purse, TOM sunnies and H&M beanie. Wore this to The Warren for some biscuits and gravy and beermosas. If you like beer and orange juice than a beermosa is your new friend! It’s like a mimosa but in my opinion better because champagne is a recipe for a headache or belly ache for this lady. I’ve made them at home using Hoegaarden or Blue Moon and had them out at restaurants, do yourself a favor and try it out!

NYFW: Best Streetstyle Sites

angelsPOV

Each New York Fashion Week season I mainly get excited for one thing: STREET STYLE. Since I’ve only experienced the event from home via the internet, Instagram or Twitter the most realistic aspect to me is style on the street. I have several go-to sites for the best coverage of what I like to call “the concrete runway” and I wanted to share them with you, not an any particular order, here they are:

misternewton

Mr. Newton

[line]

He’s a photographer and blogger with an eye for pretty girls in pretty clothes and usually snaps good angles. I like that it’s not always super fancy attire that I can actually relate to my own style.

jaknjil

Jak and Jil

[line]

Shot by Tommy Ton this blog is full of high-res up-close shots of fashionable men and women.  I’ve always enjoyed his focus on accessories and shoes.  His work is on GQ.com and Style.com so you could also visit those sites to see photos that don’t make it to his Tumblr.

hapers

Harpers Bazaar

[line]

Harper’s is always capturing great street style and are a go-to for festival style as well, really like their large high-quality images. Also they take notice to fashion bloggers which is something I definitely appreciate.

Elle

[line]

As well-rounded as the magazine, Elle.com is loaded with fashion week information such as complete shows and street style. Chose the above photo from the current NYFW because I’m mildly obsessed with her coat, ok, very obsessed!

vogue

Vogue

[line]

I feel like this is a “DUH.” but their street style photography is different than the common strike-a-pose full outfit shot and like you’d expect they have detailed coverage of all things fashion week related even parties!

venessajackman

Vanessa Jackman

[line]

I really admire Vanessa’s site, it’s clean and simple, her photography is beautiful and she seems to really connect with the people she photographs.  The photos are soft and nicely edited. She travels all over the world so you can see style from Paris to Milan.

ref29

Refinery 29

[line]

Big fan of their emails which are usually funny and informative and also a fan of their style coverage from fashion week to the day-to-day streets of large cities, R29 is a must for a daily site and NYFW.

Additional great sites to visit: Style Caster, Vanity Fair, Teen Vogue or fashion bloggers that are in attendance such as Blonde Salad or Song of Style.  Have a super weekend!

CRITICAL ASSS

Hope everyone survived their Monday! Over at my offices we are gearing up for the Apparel Show so it’s the usual pre-show crazy but it feels good to keep this month fast-paced since January seems to drag on and on.  This weekend Dustin and I saw the new movie, Wolf on Wall Street and had many’a good laughs! That film was wild, long and hilarious-definitely recommend if the F-word and nudity doesn’t offend you because Leo’s roll is phenomenal! We also attended the Winter Beer Fest at the Masquerade Music Park, of course we had lots of fun as we both love beer and live music.  In between these activities I snapped photos for Jezebel street style and visited Molly Rose Freeman‘s art studio at the Goat Farm. I’ll be working on those photos this week and will post a little interview with her soon. Today I’d like to share my photos from the lady bike ride, Critical Asss-

Ride started at Estoria in Cabbagetown and went through O4W to Little Five Points back around to the bar. It was a brisk sunny day that was filled with catching up with old friends and making a few new gal pals.

I gave our bike gang the name “Ally Cats” cause clearly are rebels that wreak havoc on the Beltline :P

CA2

Big fan of the detail on this Gap sweatshirt, fancy space lady attire.

CA4

Jess, Jessica, Elizabeth, Stephanie

ca6 CA3 CA7

To stay warm I wore an H&M hat, Gap sweatshirt, Gap denim shirt, 7 For All Mankind jeans (yes my ankles were cold!), new Asics from Free People.com and a Tulle Jacket I got via winning an Instagram contest via Need Supply

I don’t always bike in the cold, but when I do it’s with a bunch of kick asss ladies around the streets of ATL!

For more information on the upcoming rides, follow along their Instagram account @critical_asss_atl

streetstyle: plaid

it’s no mystery that plaid also known as tartan is BACK in full swing in the fashion world. I’ve been spotting it in all forms such as the 90s revival-button downs and mini dresses, wool scarves, jackets and capes. here are some fashionable plaid wearing ladies from my Streets & Style Fall/Winter Pinterest board:
