Meet the newest addition to my wardrobe I’ll be living in all year long:

These Madewell overalls are the perfect combo of “aw, cute overalls!” and “hey girl hey” if ya know what I mean. *if not, basically cute and fitted giving off a slight sexy vibe ;)  Also, you’ll never believe where this shirt is from…………TARGET! It’s part of the Who What Wear line they currently have in store. Saw on a women at the camera rental shop had to ask and then had to own.

Speaking of new, these Bussola kicks are also recently acquired. I got obsessed with this brand in Greece and reached out to the company. They no longer had the shoes I was searching to buy a second pair of but asked if I’d be interested in trying out a Fall style. I opted for these to add a classy black bootie into my mix. Definitely wear-out-of-the-box capability since they are instantly comfortable just like my sandals were.

As you can tell, Atlanta’s in full Fall colors mode. We’ve been in a bad drought and have had lots of wildfires going on in North Georgia but the weather has really been fantastic. Well, minus the smoke on some windy days. It’s been nuts seeing smoke off in the distance like we’re in California, it’s just not something we’re used to.

Enough about weather, lets talk about BLACK FRIDAY/CYBER MONDAY and all the sales that are in swing and soon to be full swing! Shopbop is one of my favorite online retailers and starting today their Buy More, Save More  event is on! Lots of great gift, trend and style guides can be found on their landing page. Happy shopping!

While the guys were off camping and hiking over the weekend a few ladies and I tossed around ideas of what to do and Scott’s Antique Market market came up.  I had never been but heard lots of good feedback.  But also stuff like “beware of replications!”  So I looked around the internet and found mixed reviews but since you never really know till you see for yourself, we went for it.

When we pulled up I thought “ok, looks like and old Walmart turned into an expo center, this outta be interesting..” but walking down the first couple rows I knew it was going to be good!

It was a good thing most of the stuff was inside because it was very cold and windy! There were some outside booths set up which is actually where I did all my buying, but the majority of browsing is inside the center.

These hand-painted audubons were from the 1800s. This hippie at heart will always love retro mushroom things!

Dressed comfy and warm in a Madewell sweater, Nordstrom top, InFlow Style leggings, Chucks, Neva Opet necklace and Madewell tote.

The above old grain sacks from France would make the prettiest pillow cases. Sara and I both gravitated towards the stripes. These particular ones were pricey but after walking around for a bit we found another vendor that had more reasonable prices.

Ok, so there were some mass produced, not so real deal pieces, but they were actually pretty great. The hanging baskets would make awesome fern planters.

These are dough bowls, unsure of the time period, but growing up my mom had one on our dining room table and I thought it was so cool.

If you’re in the market for rugs Scotts is the place to go!  So many vendors selling Persian and Turkish varieties. I found a couple I liked a lot but wanted to have Dustin’s opinion as well as wait till our couch arrives and we find accent chairs.

Lots of booths with specific categories but also a bunch with various antique knickknacks. It’s also known for it’s great selection of estate jewelry. Heard lots of brides to be shopping here.

There was a plant dealer that sold the neatest arrangements of cacti and succulents. Took a lot of restraint not to buy the above planter!  Ash bought this huge aloe plant from the guys that had a flower that was about 4′ tall, really unique.

Another item that took talking myself out of buying. The last thing our house needs is another set of antlers. Though I really liked these better than our bare ones, the plaque adds a bit of classiness.

Things I haven’t stopped thinking about: grain sack pillowcase, a white/black mud cloth blanket, that cactus and an old wooden crate used to transport Johnnie Walker Red Label.

Things I went home with: A fold-up picnic table from a legit German Beer garden.  Guy bought them from a town that bordered Germany and Belgium.  This was a dream score! Such a cool story behind it and $175 for a table and two benches that can seat 8 maybe, 10 people. We were wanting an outdoor table and this fell into our laps! Also left with two vintage crates. Not as cool as the Johnnie Walker one but stacked they make for a rad plant stand.

We hit up a lot of stuff but there’s definitely booths we didn’t see and also a whole other building. Next time it’d be good to do one building one day and come back (your ticket is good all weekend) to conquer the other. I can only walk around so many hours plus we had to break for lunch (and beers!)  After coming home and telling Dustin about it he’s wanting to go, so a round two is definitely in order!

In a nutshell:
2nd weekend of the month, Fri/Sat/Sun
$5 entrance fee with free parking
Two buildings, North and South, bus on site for a free ride
1 ticket purchase gets you in all weekend

Tomorrow my little brother ties the knot! Crazy to think all three of us will be hitched. Weather’s looking good-Dustin and I both are in the wedding-should be a fun and lovey dovey time!

Enjoy your weekend!!

I interrupt my honeymoon recapping to tell you all that Shopbop is having their “Buy More, Save More” sale!
Just in time for the holidays, you can either save on yourself or your friends and family!

giftsI perused the gift section and came across these Dogeared items I thought would make really awesome presents. I received one of their necklaces as a bridesmaids gift and wore it a ton!  For such delicate chains and charms, the quality is very good.  Also, how fun are these makeup/totes?! More here.  Also, Shopbop put out their gift guide and it’s legit-check that out here.

Details here. Exclusions apply. Have fun shopping and saving!

With the steady decline in temperatures you’re probably realizing you need to add some more pieces to your wardrobe, I know I am after all the purging I’ve done this past season! We are in luck because Shopbop is having their 3-day Friends + Family sale offering 25% off site-wide! Yep, the entire site, also including their men’s site too, East Dane!

I’ve had my eyes on several of the pieces above, as well as a Peinfield jacket that I know I’d wear daily so I’ll definitely be taking advantage of this sale!

I’m guessing you spotted the trend: plaid, pretty quickly. It’s been back in style full force for some time now but I feel like this year it’s even bigger (or maybe it’s mostly Madewell who is really REALLY into it..) Either way, I’m cool with my Fall/Winter wardrobe having a lot of it so I took on the task and went thru all they have to offer, and in my opinion, these are the best pieces on the site. You’re welcome ;) I’ll be honest, I love browsing so it wasn’t a chore at all!

My love for vintage extends to music.  Back in the day when I was avidly thrifting, before I even owned a record player, I would buy records by artists I grew up listening to and frame them and collected mostly for the album art.  Then in 2003, at a yard sale I found a mint condition 1955 record player with speakers and from then on would thumb through the piles at thrift shops and yard sales.  Some time later I broke the needle and didn’t bother replacing but kept collecting here and there.

Not long after Dustin and I started dating he took interest in my collection and bought us a modern record player to actually take advantage of all the music I was using as decor. Now, it’s become our hobby! We love the slow-paced afternoons and evenings just hanging around the house, sipping a homemade drink or my favorite chardonnay and listening to the crackly sound of a Lynyrd Skynyrd album. We’ve also purchased new music on vinyl like his favorite Blink 182 and our favorite St. Lucia and Alabama Shakes.

People either laugh at young adults listening to vinyl with apps like Pandora and Spotify (both of which we use very often) or they appreciate it.

On Saturday when we went to Highland Row Antiques and perused the vinyl for sale we met an older gentlemen that thought it was great we were into records. He’s also a collector but to a much higher degree than we are, completing artist’s box sets. One of these days I’m sure we’ll get into the hunt of finding that one record we’re missing in a set, but for now it’s just fun!

Here’s this weekend’s loot:

Interested in these records? Purchase from below links:
Eagles- The Long Run
Fleetwood Mac-Rumors
Aerosmith- Aerosmith
The Doors: L.A. Woman

record playerThis is the record player we bought off Amazon. Super easy to use, press start and it automatically does the needle for you and press stop and same thing, needle goes back to the holder. It’s been great! Even holds Flynn who’s decided to make it his perch for looking out the window and with the plastic cover it prevents dust and cat fur from getting in. We’ve recommended to two friends who’ve purchased and loved. Find the additional items you’ll need to enjoy tunes here, here and here.
