Hope everyone’s week has gotten started on the right foot. I’m in the midst of wrapping up my last week of work before starting a NEW JOB! Next Monday I’ll be working at Indigo Studio as their office administer wearing many hats and handling many roles. I’ll be doing everything from office duties to renting camera equipment, helping on shoots, organizing and hunting down props and assisting the producers and CEO. I’m extremely excited for this new chapter of my life! While I’ll miss the little family I’ve built working at the mart and designer studio for the past three years it’s time to move on and is actually quite overdue. My current boss’s are very happy for me and know that this is a step in the right direction for my future. Wish me luck!
I’m wearing an Urban Outfitters jacket, Pamela Love for Lucky Magazine shirt, H&M skirt, Sam Edelman boots, Kate Spade purse, TOM sunnies and H&M beanie. Wore this to The Warren for some biscuits and gravy and beermosas. If you like beer and orange juice than a beermosa is your new friend! It’s like a mimosa but in my opinion better because champagne is a recipe for a headache or belly ache for this lady. I’ve made them at home using Hoegaarden or Blue Moon and had them out at restaurants, do yourself a favor and try it out!
Natural Light
Last time you saw Flynn here on the blog it was National Cat Day, he was much smaller and fuzzier so I figured I’d show off how mature he’s become! He’s also become a little less of a terror, I repeat…little less. He’s gotten used to our schedule a bit more though he still meows at the bedroom door most mornings but it’s become a backup alarm so it’s fine. I know you’re thinking, you don’t let your cats sleep with you? And no, I don’t. I tried many years ago with Tater and he just kept me up with moving or licking since I’m a very light sleeper (every night I use a noise machine and/or earplugs!) so I decided it would be better to sleep separately. I put out all their toys and give them treats before bed so they don’t really mind just want to snuggle before I get up to get myself showered and ready for work days. Flynn has also become quite the model, much like Tater, check him out!
Speaking of Tater, Flynn loves his older brother and mimics everything he does including begging for wet food whenever I approach the cupboard that holds the magically moist ‘kitty crack’ food. Do your cats revert to feral crazies when you bring out the wet food? It’s hilarious how nuts they become; I know they enjoy it much more than dry food so I treat them to it a couple times a week.
Along with calming down a bit Flynn has also wanted more affection. At first he wasn’t that into being pet or held for long periods of time but he wanted attention, which threw me off. Tater is very affectionate and wants to be in your lap or on you at all times, so to get a new addition that only sort of wants attention sometimes it was much different. I love the little dude and am especially into him hanging out while I take a bath on the edge of the tub. We even got him rubber ducks! We’ve all made adjustments and he’s become a sweet member of our little family!
Happy Friday from Flynn, Tater, Dustin and Flashy!
On Tuesday Atlanta and surrounding areas as well as Alabama was surprisingly dumped on with around 2 inches of snow and ice and caused total madness. I was one of the lucky ones who was sent home from work around 1pm and so it only took me 30 minutes longer than normal to make it to the house whereas most of my friends weren’t so fortunate. A coworker who left at the same time spent 9+ hours in the car to go the same distance but her route included the mess of an interstate. My poor boyfriend spent 4 hours in the car to get from campus to my loft which was a measly 3 miles-totally nuts! After I made it home I immediately hit up Kroger for supplies, ie. beer, and stayed indoors until Dustin arrived and suggested we go check out the Beltline, here’s our mini-adventure-
We didn’t go too far from the house since it was legit FREEZING and no amount of layers was keeping this cold natured lady warm. We did go to the North Ave. overpass and watch cars, even trucks, attempt to make it up the icy hill until a cop on an intercom told them to “do not proceed, safely do a u-turn and head back.” We were amazed at all the stories that flooded our FB newsfeed of people spending hours and hours in the car, folks trapped at work or spending the night on the highway, kids stuck on school buses and even a woman who delivered a baby on the interstate!
Bet you are wondering how in the *bleep* 2-ish inches of snow shut down a city, well here are two articles I found interesting and accurate, 1 & 2. Today Atl is up and running and I’m back at work downtown at the Mart. Hope everyone in GA and Bamaland is also back to normal!
