LADY FLASHBACK
I think I’ve found a reoccurring entry I can actually keep up with- these ‘weekend wear’ posts are fun and easy! Especially since I spend my weekends with my honey and he’s a great photographer and I feel comfortable asking him because he loves helping me out and is super supportive of my blogging. I hope to get them up on Mondays but sometimes my Monday evening after work is more for playing catch up on chores and decompressing since the weekend often goes until Sunday night.
Unlike the previous two weekends we did not get BBQ instead kept our Friday simple and walked over to The Bookhouse pub, one of my favorite pubs for Oberon on draft and a yummy dinner. On the walk over I commented about the chilly weather and Dustin said “yea, we’re having a ‘blackberry winter’..” to which I replied “oh yea? didn’t know that was a thing.” He didn’t either until one of his coworkers had told him about it so we were both new to this Southern term which refers to a cold front that coincides with the time-frame that blackberries are in bloom. As expected it didn’t last long since it’s about to be real deal summer here in Hotlanta. Always glad to take advantage of a cool front and continue wearing Spring layers and open up the windows in my loft. Speaking of layering, this “dress” has to be layered because it doesn’t cover much, don’t even think tights would be appropriate but with jeans it works! Pretty hilarious when my mom gave it to me on a family trip last year and I put it on and came out and my brother was like “ah Jess!” and mom and dad said “oh no, think it’s a *little* too short!” OOPS!
During the pre-Shaky knees Party at Free People White Provisions I was given one of these cute totes and it’s been my purse for the last week. It’s been great because I like having a casual day time bag I can toss all of my chunky things in like planner and journal and then if I go out change things over to a smaller more dressy bag.

The majority of the weekend was spent with my girlfriends on a mini getaway in Ball Ground, Georgia. Eleven of us caravaned up to my friends parents home in the mountains where we hiked, cooked out, day drank and played Cards Against Humanity. I left my camera at home and focused on enjoying time with my friends, though I did document all of our amazing meals for Instagram! I love how just an hour and fifteen minute drive up the interstate and it feels like you are in a totally different state all together~

Since I’m feeling like myself again after 3 days of music, rain and Dos Equis, I wanted to share my favorite of the festival fashions from Shaky Knees Music Festival! Despite the crazy weather fest-goers rocked some really great looks, here are the ladies I thought wore it best-
Lastly, my favorite of my outfits, a Madewell dress I bought specifically for the occasion which turned out to be a heavier linen that I thought so I sweated my bum off! (worth it!)
I’ll be sharing a more detailed post of mine and Dustin’s adventures along with my other two outfits which are even more casual but also blue. Apparently I’m on a blue kick which is A-Ok with me!

I know it’s been a minute but I hope you didn’t forget I promised a recap of the Blogger Closet Sale at the W Hotel in Buckhead. We had so much fun setting up all of our things and reminiscing about different pieces showing each other splurge items we never wore and things we bought hoping to fit in and had to finally let go. Getting there early and being set up pretty quickly also meant I was able to get first dibs on checking out the other bloggers closets. I ended up buying three things-from Tiffany I got a fringe Zara blouse and an H&M army jacket and from Jessica I scored a denim Zara shirt. I’ve already worn them all!

Dustin had the brilliant idea to use my old business cards as earring cards, made things so easy! I think I sold every thing in this pic, I who could resist those prices?!
We each signed up for Square which made things super easy! Personally hadn’t used the software/app before but would definitely recommend if you need to accept cards at a function.
My shoes didn’t sell that well, unfortunately, but I went and sold some at Buffalo Exchange and holding on to the rest until we have our “Fall Blogger Closet Sale.” That’s right, the W was so pleased with how it turned out they invited us to do another but none of those details are squared away yet but when we know, you’ll know!
Blogger Natalie of 11th Thread stopped by to shop and support. She went home with a vintage fake fur jacket and mint maxi skirt from my closet as well as a few other pieces from fellow bloggers.
My handsome “assistant” who helped me out big time with hauling all the stuff and set up/break down. He’s the best!

Weekend Recap:
Friday evening was date night for Dustin and I at a new spot in town called Sweet Auburn Barbecue in the Highlands. We had heard it was a must visit from so many friends so we wanted to give it a go. I knew I’d like it right off the bat after walking in and spotting rustic decor and a vintage American flag. We each ordered a specialty cocktail and meat platter for dinner consisting of BBQ pulled pork and sides. I got the Sweet Water 420 baked beans and mac-n-cheese he got the grits and brussel sprouts. We were blown away! Seriously. The baked beans were my favorite part, they had the perfect amount of added bacon. We were so full after devouring we couldn’t fathom getting dessert, that was until we were literally convinced by a neighbor at our communal table to try the banana pudding-so we made room and were glad we did! As any Southern dessert should, the yummy dessert was served in a cute little mason jar.

Then on Saturday I went out to Arabia Mountain with a local singer songwriter named Sydney Ward to shoot photos for a soon to launch website called “I Spy Atl.” Sydney and I both squealed many times with joy over how the photos looked in-camera, I’m super excited to share with launch. More details on ISPYATL coming soon! That night we went to Dustin’s cousin’s house in Cumming, GA where we hung and grilled out and played with their 6-month old twin boys. Needed a low key night after hiking and getting partially sun-burnt for sure!
Sunday we went to the Braves game with Dustin’s family and a friend. The game was slow but we enjoyed conversation, beers and brats. At the end of the game a crazy storm rolled through and even though we ran to the car, which was parked far away from the stadium, we got drenched. Dustin had my purse (which contained my camera) tucked under his arms trying to keep it dry while I was running and laugh-screaming. My camera was unharmed and we had many good laughs, love silly memories like these!!
If you experienced any of the scary weather or tornadoes last night I sincerely hope you and your loved ones are ok! My two biggest fears are sharks and tornadoes, so you can imagine how high-strung I was this morning at 6:00am when our power went out and wind was sucking my blinds up against the window. The weather seems to be better but watching the forecast like a hawk.
