New Years Eve via Lady Flashback!

Hey there blog babies! I’m super excited to welcome a new girl to our team- Lady Flashback! Check out her own sweet blog here and stay tuned for her fashion musings, party pix and general Flashback magic. Her first round of party photos are up in the photo gallery, so check them out! Plus our newest Darlin will be shooting Hot and Sticky this Thursday at Eastside Lounge, so please give her unicorn kisses and make her feel super welcome! – Sarah

As a huge fan of Sorry,Darlin I was thrilled when Sarah approached me about collaborating efforts with her blog and mine, LadyFlashback.com. I have been blogging about fashion, photography, home decor, parties, DIY, and all things vintage for over 3 years now. Relocating to Atlanta has opened up many doors for me in the internet world as well as nightlife. Just last month my blog was awarded the superlative for “Hip Style Blog” in Atlanta Magazine, see the article here. Being a long time fan of photography it dawned on me that shooting parties professionally was my calling since I was already taking 100+ photos any given weekend. This opportunity to shoot with Sorry,Darlin blows my mind, extremely excited for adventures to come!

Our first experience together just so happened to be NYE, what a purrrfect night to shoot for the VERY FIRST TIME-huh?!?!

The Darlin ladies and I agree-it went marvelous, take a look for yourself over at the photo gallery.

Here are my top 11 favorites of the night we rang in 2011 at MJQ

polar opposites

talk about a FLASHBACK, this time last year i scanned some pages from a Barneys Co-Op catalog i picked up in store that have sat in a folder on my computer’s desktop since then begging to be posted. this is nothing new, i have other folders filled with goodies waiting to be left free! guess it’s FINALLY time to share these:
the first two are very edgy and consist of tons of metallics, whereas the following scans are more ‘natural chic’ with a touch of a vintage feel. since my style is forever changing and i can never choose just one decade or just one appearance to dress myself in, this post is perfect for me: no choosing!
Barneys Scan
dabbled with thoughts of an asymmetrical bang, these gals are definitely convincing!
Barneys Scan
recently purchased a top from UO like the smaller photo, it’s black//metallic strips and im really excited to sport such an edgy style!
Barneys Scan
layers, layers LAYERS!
all about them!
Barneys Scan
if you can get past the slightly scary photo effect here the outfit is really great, esp that huge bag. i could even fit my enormous camera in that thing, along with all of my other ‘supplies’!
Barneys Scan
i am really digging both outfits here, i would totally wear the guys jacket and hat. and the lady’s cropped pants with those suede clogged looking heels-yes please!
as a matter of fact, anytime i browse through Barneys catalogs i am left feeling very envious of all the shoppers out there who can ACTUALLY purchase anything from that store. whereas i am left to daydream…

Spotlight: Friendly Fashionistas

i’ve always adored my friend’s style and from time to time shown off their looks here on LadyFLASHBACK. would like to start doing that more often, spotlighting some pals who i think have great personal style. for example, Kristie Jo, a college lady friend who’s wardrobe is something to be coveted. KJO came into town for a Halloween celebration that could never be forgotten. on the last day of her visit we went vintage perusing over at Highland Row Antiques and her outfit caught my eye, where’s whyyy:::
KJO1
check out her vintage mink&&leather biker jacket! can you imagine riding a motorcycle and those little furry tails blowing in the wind?? so dreamy. she found this at a thrift hot spot in Alabama we both frequently visit, while i have scored some great stuff there..i think this jacket takes the price!
outfit//deetz:
bow//jacket//top//locket: Vintage, purse: Vintage Fendi scored at a shop we both worked at “Twice as Nice” for a mere $150.00, some deal right?!?!, kicks: Target ((!!!)), sunnies: Kate Spade
KJO2
mustard has long been a favorite color choice for both kjo and myself, goes so well with our dark features and really goes with EVERYTHING!
KJO3
KJO4
even the thought of her looking into moving to atlanta thrills my ♥♥♥♥, where she will always have a special place! thanks for the visit Kristie!

another lady with great style is actually a friend of my boyfriend who came into town for a couple days with her BF on a route from NYtoCA. from the moment we met i knew she had superb taste and i was CORRECT.
rachel1
she wore this out the day i took her and Chris around for thrifting, record shopping and Little Five browsing. she almost bought a mint condition vintage Pucci dress but the fitting was off, nonetheless, it further proved her eye for style!
rachel2
outfit//deetz:
rabbit fur jacket: Juicy Couture, purse: vintage-loved the sterling deer emblem on the front, wish i would have taken a detail shot.. shoes: Aldo
it was nice hanging with a couple for a few days and going on double dates, which i L♥VE :))

//TOKION//

well HELLO october

and hello to You All!
TCover
!!meet Tokion!!
a photo filled publication originally started as a cultural bridge between japan && the USofA by two americans living in japan.
the description is best put by the magazine themselves:

TOKION is an arts and culture magazine that reports from the street level where the creative community lives and thrives. Always willing to take a chance and try something new, TOKION goes inside the world of the contemporary artists, musicians and designers who are pushing boundaries and shaping the way we see the world. With its world-class photography and cutting-edge design, the magazine provides a one-of-a-kind platform for the emerging stars and the established icons of art, design, fashion, music and film to present their unfiltered visions to an audience of cultural messengers.

i took the time, and a lot of time at that ((!!!)) to scan in some of my favorite photos and will be sharing them here with you! here is just a few of some of the beautiful photos from the lovely magazine////

all about some oxfords and ked-like shoes these days. esp since it’s hard for me to wear heels, the oxfords are a great dressy alternative to heels.
t4
got my first ((and DEF not last)) pair of TOMS a couple months ago, they are burlap like the ones here just don’t have strips. they go with everything and are SO SO comfy! ((TOMS TIP: always get a 1/2-full size smaller, they will stretch!!))
t2
even though it’s now october, i still am able to rock some tanks living in georgia…and that’s exactly what i’ve been doing. love love love tanks, especially slouchy ones.
t3
and what’s better than a tank that’s cropped?! and one with triangles is even better, i have long been obsessed with triangles, don’t know what it is about that shape but i dig it.
t5
this article was called “WEEKEND WARRIOR” and i am def getting the warrior vibe from both the above && below photos. totally enjoying the studs and headflare.

t7
this last editorial is really great, not only are the photos uber dreamy ((and PINK!)) but the styling is really great too. doesn’t this chick look like Alicia Silverstone??? -a prettier hip A.S….

i randomly stumbled upon this mag at a local hip gas station but i assume that some bookstores may carry. it’s only published 6 times a year so keep an eye out, it’s totes worth it! makes a great coffee table book, although i’ve been hoarding it my room constantly flipping through the pages for inspiration. oh and please excuse the poor scan quality, it was slightly bigger than my scanner and i had to hold it down each time to get it “just right” although some have some crappy shadows. check back as i will be posting many more pages!

happy happy weekend my fellow weekend warriorz!
