FESTIVAL FASHION

and so it begins, the start of FESTIVAL SEASON, can I get a yayyyyyyyy?!?!

though I didn’t make it to Coachella again this year I’m always stoked to scour the internet for my favorite festival outfits. I was waiting till both weekends were over to collect as many looks as possible but as it turns out the best outfits were from Weekend One and I actually had a hard time even finding photos from Weekend Two…

after narrowing them down to my faves, I can say this year, much like all the other Coachella weekends did NOT disappoint! thanks to all the StreetStyle photographers out there capturing what we non-attendees can’t see for ourselves!

per usual I’ve paired together similar looks/color pallets/accessories/etc that I noticed were “trending” among the fashionable ladies, for example flower crowns or matching two-pieced outfits.

personally when I attend a festival it’s all about comfort and dressing practically for the weather conditions, especially since I usually camp (not to be confused with GLAMPING!)  so heels and white bottoms wouldn’t be my go-to but I do appreciate the effort that goes into Coachella.

speaking of getting excited for music, Atlanta has many’a festivals coming up, one of which is this weekend-Shaky Knees Festival-that I’ve been given a press pass to shoot this Saturday! Band of Horses is headlining and I couldn’t be more excited to cover the event! going to try and capture a few festival fashion shots of concert-goers if that’s possible around here, hahha, not saying ATL doesn’t have style but it’s certainly no Coachella..   other festivals heading our way in the next couple weekends are Party in the Park (Passion Pit, Yeasayer, Elle Goulding) and Jazz Fest (FREE! Memorial Day weekend)

get excited party people, SUMMER + MUSIC is on the way!

CATCHER OF DREAMZ

in the previous post i casually mentioned that a friend and i are sharing an art space at the Goat Farm, that being said one of my first projects is to whip up some DREAM CATCHERS! as an avid arts & crafts supplies collector it was time to get a space for my mega collection and since loft living in the city doesn’t provide office space at a reasonable cost i opted for a separate workspace. the farm is an amazing spot to get inspired, have some alone time, meet other artsy folks and really dive into projects while working close to a friend who has always been an inspiration. throughout the years i have done quite a bit of peddling my own creations- such as selling stickers, posters or “hippy halos” at music festivals so…when i decided it was time to get a space that also meant i need to make back a little bit of monies [hints] making some “inventory” to sell at local festivals and markets.

getting back to dream catchers…

it’s sorta crazy how trendy they’ve become yet i really dig how unique they’ve gotten from the original “design.”  been collection inspiring photos as ideas to take the my supplies and turn them into something dreamy//

how the dream catcher is made:
Using a hoop of willow, and decorating it with findings, bits and pieces of everyday life, (feathers, arrow heads, beads, etc) the dream catcher is believed to have the power to catch all of a person’s dreams, trapping the bad ones, and letting only the good dreams pass through the dream catcher.

For lots of you she is a familiar face but for the those who don’t know her – meet Ashley of Purse’N Boots. a stylist and fashion blogger living in LA this lady has one of my FAVORITE wardrobes out there. her jewelry collection is off the wall and her purse and boots stash is just as fierce! with a great sense of fashion also comes her humor, she’s freakin hilarious! the commentary under her outfits has me laughing cause sometimes fashion is sometimes just silly!
she’s also good pals with fellow California blogger Krystal of What is Reality Anyways and between those two closets they have me envious.
check out more of her fabulous wardrobe here:
and trust me you’ll want to invade her collection

been collecting home decor inspiration for weeks now as i’m done with unpacking at the new place and in the process of the fun part: DECORATING!
over the years i’ve established a home-style which is much like my personal-style: an eclectic mix of vintage, patterns, bright colors, with a bit of bohemian mixed in. as you can tell from above i’m favoring a Southwestern/Moroccan look with the same semi-cluttered vintage decor.
a few things on my flea market list: old paint buckets, mini picture frames, large jewelry box, cat figurines, mini bottles, dream catchers, vases, and anything awesome my new place can’t live without!
next weekend my dad is hooking me up with deer antlers and an old steer head i plan to hang above my bed. once the place is near completion i’ll post some photos!
have a good, relaxing Sunday!
