Blogger Brunch

after taking Monday evening to recoup from the weekend and get things together for the week (which most people do Sunday night, however, usually I’m still having fun!) I’ve put together the photos from the blogger brunch Natalie of Pocket of Presh, Kelly of R-Ki-Tekt and I had on Saturday in White Provisions. we met at the yummy West Egg and caught up on our busy lives and THEIR BABIES that are on the way-yes, they are BOTH pregnant! this is Natalie’s first and it’s too early to know the gender and Kelly’s second child but first boy-so happy for both of them! it was fun chatting about baby names, pregnancy stuff (yes, I find this interesting and not weird at all!) and we even went to the cutest kid store called Seed Factory. we also dropped by the Free People and SimplyPut. here’s what we wore:
I love how we all three wore complimentary patterns and colors! even though we all took pics of our brunch I didn’t take any with my fancy camera-just iphone for Instagraming-oh well, it was YUMMY!
you can barely see it but Natalie has the cutest baby bump, eeeee!
she’s wearing a Loft jumpsuit and sunnies, Target shoes, Michael Kors watch, and Presh Studios clutch
Natalie made this clutch from soft perferated leather-all her designs are available on her Etsy shop!
how cute is her baby bump?!? talking with Kelly about children had me in laughter tears, she has the best sense of humor about having and raising kids.
Kelly made this necklace from geometric shaped hand painted wooden beads and sterling chain-all her designs are available in her Etsy shop!
she’s wearing Marshall’s dress, Target sandals, Kate Spade bag, necklace by (r-ki-tekt) and Gap sunnies
smiling for sun (finally it shows its BRIGHT face! but then it totally stormed…)
and now for my brunch baby bump!!
I’m wearing a Madewell x Alexa Chung dress, H&M hat, Clarks wedges, Kate Spade bag and Clothing Warehouse sunnies.

best of luck to my blogger lady friends and their lil bundles of joy on the way!

tomorrow I’m going to see Jimmy Eat World, high school dreams coming true y’all!

as always street style is always my favorite part about New York fashion week and this round didn’t disappoint even though attendees had to deal with a BLIZZARD they still sported fabulous threads on the streets in between shows. I scoured through sites such as Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Calivintage, Free People, Vogue and Refinery 29 and collected my favorites from last week.

my favorite trend: the FUR! being the cold natured lady I am, I would have totally been wrapped up from head to toe! even though the fashionistas had to layer in warm garments they still added bold and bright colors like Hanneli’s neon green jacket. if I end up making it to a fashion week I’ll have to be sure to go when I won’t freeze my bum off!
happy hump day!

lately through street style snaps on blogs and Pinterest I’ve noticed a rustic city gal meets cowgirl trend i’ve been really into including wide-brim hats, parkas, ankle boots, satchels and fringe. I’ve pulled some of my favorite looks from my “Streets and Style” board showing how it’s done all over the world.
the look even comes in a dressy version
casual shades of blue
I’m always up for mixing brown and black
this ensemble is very much my style as it’s relaxed, comfy with a little tomboy mixed in with BOOTS.
snapped a few photos on Sunday of how I’m currently rocking this trend using pieces from my own wardrobe-stay tuned for photos TOMORROW.

as mentioned in an earlier post i had the pleasure of teaming up with 7 other Atlanta Style Bloggers for the W ThinksPINK Cure on the Catwalk event on Sept 27th. We were each paired with a breast cancer survivor and given a specific boutique in Buckhead to “shop” for our model’s look. unfortunately my model couldn’t make it and poor Ebony of Fashionista Next Door couldn’t attend so i was paired up with her model and visa versa. they had picked out two looks and i got to choose the final outfit so in a way i was able to “style” a runway look :) here’s the press photos by Sara Hanna Photography and a few i snapped during the event.

thanks to the W Buckhead for having us, Atlanta Style Blogger Mattie James for inviting me to participate, both my awesome models and the Pink Heels Foundation for starting an organization for strong woman!

up next: tomorrow my D+DIY column (actually from Sept but pushed till now) is getting posted…lil hint: the craft is a throw back to my hippie days!

this season i’m doing my “coverage” of New York Fashion Week a little differently as websites such as Refinery 29, NY Mag, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Nasty Gal have made it possible with street style photography i’ve collected my favorite showgoer and model street style looks. it took perusing many hours, sifting through 100s and 100s of photos plus using Photoshop to make it all fit but here are my farovite looks from the streets of NY last week-

can you spot fellow lady bloggers On the Racks, Trop Rouge, Man Repeller, The Glamourai, Buro 24/7, Hanneli, Late Afternoon and The Blonde Salad? it’s really cool to see how blogging has changed over the years and how these hard working ladies are getting recognition for being the fashionistas they truly are and being placed on the same “level” as designers, models, magazine contributors and other fashion forward thinking individuals.

trends i spotted while surfing the street style scene from this years NYFW include:
-loud and bold printed pants in both flared and straight leg
-maxi dresses now with a new slit which i think will help make the maxi more flattering for different body types (and my girlfriends agreed when this was brought up in conversation!)
-wearing blazers on shoulders for a classy “im keeping warm but not too hot” look
-wide brim hats
-lots of WHITE, creme and ivory
-menswear and tomboy looks
-dressing up vintage tees with a fancy skirt
-denim on denim
-neons mixed with black help carry this trend into Fall/Winter
-casual chic
-colorful reflective shades
-rigid, THICK fabrics

even though this post is PACKED with photos…there’s more! i really had a tough time narrowing it down to a reasonable amount so i’ve put the remaining photos on my LF Facebook page.

if you went to Fashion Week, i am jealous. hopefully i can plan it right and ahead of time next year and snap some of my own street style pics!
