MONDAY NIGHT BREWING

IMG_8625
Hey yall, this is Ryan. I’m that sweety sweet sweet boyfriend//Silver Foxxx guy Jess keeps talking about. Because she’s a sweetheart herself, she lent me her blog for this post to tell ya just how much fun we had on our Saturday afternoon date to a brewery; which I took her to for completely unselfish reasons. sort of :P
this wasn’t just any brewery tour. No ma’am, this was Monday Night Brewing’s launch week & it was glorious.  I had the great fortune to visit the space and use MNB co-founders Jeff, Joel, and Jonathan as models in an all men’s pin up calendar I sponsored and organized this past summer. At that time, besides palates upon palates of kegs and the guys playing bocce in the office, the place looked deserted.  I can’t tell you how excited I was to see the finished product, but here’s my best shot.

I’m wearing: a Clapham Tie, H&M jacket + shirt, LOVA denim, and ROUGE boots.
More importantly, I’m drinking: the 1st beer of the 4 you get with your $10 entry fee; The Drafty Kilt. It’s a Scotch Ale that is more than a wee bit full bodied weighing in at 7.2% ABV with smoke and chocolate notes that has a lightly sweet finish.

Believe it or not, it all started in that bucket (to the left) in MNB’s CEO and Supreme Beer Chancellor, Jeff Heck’s, garage.  Now, you can find their beer in growleries (that’s totally a word…promise), restaurants, and coffee shops all around Atlanta. Oh, and they just bought a bottling machine. Finally, Fu Man Brews and movies featuring Fu Man Chus Night can be a thing!

ties = good
 beer = great
Ties + Beer = a beautiful thing
Fun fact: If you bring a tie to donate to the wall, you get $1 off of your entry fee!

The space is beautiful.  The beer is magnificent and at $10 a ticket for a tour, 4 nearly full glasses of beer, and your very own MNB pint glass included in the ticket cost; you have no excuse.  Tours are on Mondays 5:30-7:30, Thursdays 5:30-7:30, and Saturdays 2:00-4:00. For your health, drop by 670 Trabert Ave NW, get your tour on, play some shuffleboard, and “Tie One On”…or ya know..several.

Post – Feast

postfeast
while Sunday’s Moveable Feast was a successful event and a good time with friends and family it was also a learning experience. Ryan and I both have some things to learn about planning and hosting events and what better way to be learn then first hand, right?! Ryan’s food was delicious, the music by Nadia Marie was soul touching and the decor we both worked on went up fairly smoothly! much like NYE I was running around crazy and only had time to pause to take a few quick snaps and due to candle lighting, sadly, a lot of them didn’t turn out great.
my favorite spot in the ballroom that night is captured in the above photo. it is an antique piano Chelsea and I wheeled onto the dance floor area. I jazzed it up with candles and wine bottle decor and hung the DIY’d fringe from NYE above.

we are sporting vintage tops and I’m wearing my new LOFT slacks, vintage hat and bolo I picked up at the Rock & Mineral Show in Alabama

after the event was over and the decor came down I had to work and while I was on the grind my sweety sweet sweet boyfriend was working on a surprise for me at the house….

I came home to find my room was slightly transformed into boho amazingness-

he took the wreaths we made + the NYE fringe and hung them while balancing on a chair in the center of my bed, basically risking his life :P
I am truly a lucky gal!

MOVEABLE FEAST EVENT

spoonNfork1
I’m sure with my mention of a dinner event you were interested in hearing more details, right? so here goes, the Moveable Feast is being held THIS SUNDAY at the Highland Inn Ballroom hosted by Native Crave-a catering and events company my boyfriend has been operating since last year. he’s booked live music including a harp session by Atlanta local singer/song writer Nadia Marie, a Swing House dj set and we’ve handcrafted decor. OH and there’s also the delicious tapas menu he’s prepared!!
in regards to the events environment and attire Ryan said “I want the space to feel as if we were making our home among the trees and coming together for fellowship and celebration. the attire should reflect that in the way of re-meeting our true selves. like taking your city look back to it’s roots. therefore-urban meets arbor.”

if you are in the Atlanta area come over to the Highlands for a unique “Supper Club” experience.

Cirque DATE Soleil

last week’s date night at Cirque du Soleil was quite an adventure! ryan and i had to rush through dinner, but luckily the pop-up restaurant Hudson North made it possible to get in a quick bite, a few drinks, and a couple pics before showtime. the performance was nothing shy of mind blowing. Cirque du Soleil specializes in the unbelievable, so of course the acrobatic stunts from the synchronized routines on the high bar to the high flying trapeze acts were indescribably good. get this, each act has its own live music that the performance hinges on being flawless, for the sake of the performers, and they did not disappoint. the story line was really enjoyable plus, the added humor and skits had us in stitches and they didn’t even speak! Cirque du Soleil is a good time, a solid date night, and there’s not a bad seat in the….TENT!

now playing til December 31st

Cirque du Soleil

Very excited for this Wednesday’s date night with my boyfriend as I was given complimentary tickets to attend the Cirque du Soleil show “TOTEM” at Atlantic Station. The show’s story is quite interesting: it takes you through the ‘journey of the human species from its original amphibian state to its ultimate desire to fly.’

My boyfriend and I like to plan outfits that coordinate with each other and so just for fun I played around with ideas on Polyvore that also coordinate with the show’s color scheme.

Here are some photos from their dress rehearsal and my pretend outfits:
