An Evening in Ireland

These photos are from the previously mentioned art gallery opening at One Night Only Artique, where an old pal’s photography from Ireland was featured.

The evening was a great time-there’s nothing better than a wall size photograph of Ireland & old friends.

Stray Cat Xing

Above is a tag (stencil) I designed last week with an old cereal box, exacto knife, cutting board, InDesign, & tracing paper.  I think people should be warned when they are in stray cat xing territory since homeless kitties are roaming every where.  Strayness is  actually how I acquired Miss Kitty (my cat) && the two others living with my parents, there’s nothing better than rescuing an animal.  I spray painted the table I have in my backyard as a tester and I think it went pretty swell.

Next is photos from my sneaky get away over to Atlanta for a night at the Five Spot and hanging with Dusty’s musician buddies.  It was awesome as expected with a strange abundance of sax players and The Girls Next Door playing behind the Five Spot Orchestra on a huge screen.

coat: UO, t-shirt: vintage t-shirt vendor from Birmingham, shades;purse;boots-vintage, fedora: vintage gift for my boyfriend that I sometimes borrow.

The following day we woke up and grabbed some coffee at a sweet joint called Octane, then headed off to scoop out the deals at the Salvation Army-1/2 off clothes Wednesday!  Dusty ended up with a sweet pair of running shoes and I found 5 totally awesome blouses of sorts!! I love S.A.! We later drove around looking at different areas of town we would like to move to in the soon future, taking down the numbers at various apts, lofts, & duplexes.  Feels so good to know that opportunity is ahead because I’m really hurting for a job and need to hit the highway and Atlanta is just the place.  I just wish there was less crime, here in Alabama we don’t have to worry about locked doors and such but I know I can adapt because a big city is where I belong–the city must have surrounding wild life & outdoor recreation for sure.  I think if I can handle D.C. I can deal with ATL, I mean come on it’s still in Georgia. hehe. Enough ramblings for now, I am going to check out my friend’s art gallery opening at O.N.O of all the photos she took in Ireland for a DVD.

Sweet dreams to all when your head finally hits the pillow!

I Wish Wednesday

I really really wish for tickets to Coachella 2009!
This line-up is nothing I want to miss, but my jobless self has to carefully think the next ($$$$ spending) steps I take so I can get to Atlanta by summer time! The tickets for Coachella are pretty expensive compared to the other festi tickets I remember buying but damn-can I really miss it?? Last year was pretty cool & I def took notes on the s.t.r.i.c.t. rules that I would be sure to consider when packing!
That’s my Wednesday Wish.

Hikin Lady

Coat/Vintage, Shirt/DIY American Apparel, Scarf/TJ Maxx, Jeans/True Religion, Shades/Bandana/Nike Boots: Vintage.

A couple of days ago Emma and I were craving a hike so we headed towards Lake Nicol for some trail hoping before sundown.  This particular lake’s vicinity has huge boulders, small cave, beautiful view/sunset, &&& enormous cliffs that kids have been jumping off of for years (including myself).  The cave that I speak of is the last photo above, and although it seems like a medium cave, the opening is pretty small in real life. I actually climbed in last year and went for a stroll down under until giant cave crickets were inches from my face not looking too friendly. hehe. My favorite part of the hike was being able to take my ((new)) vintage Nike hiking boots out and about, which ended up being great since they are super comfy & broken in. of course an article of clothing would be my fav part of a hike but in reality hiking is one of my passions.

Hope you enjoyed the photos!
