Super Bowl

Like a lot of you reading this I mainly watch the Super Bowl for the commercials and half time show.  I don’t get too involved with NFL teams so the football aspect just doesn’t interest me all that much, however, the advertising is usually on point.  My favorite was the Wonderful pistachio commercial with Stephen Colbert, thought it was creatively split up into two segments and had a bazaar ending.  Bruno Mars’ half time performance was great, I was singing and couch-dancing along to him and his fun band.  The Red Hot Chili Peppers could have played a little longer as they only performed for all of 3 minutes. Did the half time show seem oddly short to anyone else? Pretty surprised to see an H&M commercial but not upset about David Beckham running around in boxers!  Another ad I thought was witty was the GoDaddy “spray tan” commercial with all the body builders, we were all confused what was happening until the end, funny stuff! Even though I could have cared less about who won it’s always more fun to have a close game then a blow out and man what an embarrassment for the Broncos.  I made stuffed mushrooms and split the night between my little brothers house and a friends place and I wore this:

Anthro overalls, Pure Sugar top, Sam Edelman boots, TOMS sunglasses

Wanted to keep my outfit comfy because I knew lots of finger foods and beer was involved and the possibility of sitting on the ground.  I have wanted to try and style these Anthropologie overalls during the winter and since yesterday was oddly warm took advantage and paired them with my new Sam Edelman boots and one of my favorite blouses, happy with the outcome of the look!

Hope everyone has a great start to the work week!

It isn’t hard for photos to get lost in my Iphoto library. Currently tasked with moving 2013’s photos to an external hard drive to be exact that’s 14,805 photos just from last year! While that is a lot, you have to remember I do event photography and also snap way more photos than I ever need at shoots because it’s always better to have more than wishing for additions after the fact.  So recently when I was going through said humongous photo library I stumbled upon photos that Dustin took when the tree still had leaves and we were able to wear a lot less layers.

Shawlsmith London sent me a few of their scarves to test drive.  I selected this pretty light blue, an electric blue and a grey/white mix.  What I like most about their shawls is the length.  You can really play with the way you wear them, such as looped around your neck or just hanging on either side.

This afternoon was so pretty! Missing warm weather like crazy but at least ATL isn’t covered in snow like other cities at the moment.

This past weekend I went on another bike ride but this time it was girls only! I’ll be working on those photos and posting them soon, check back for the “Critical Asss” ride beginning of next week but to hold you over I’ll be posting some sort of inspiration post on Friday.

FROM GEORGIA

Like I mentioned previously I stayed in Georgia and am celebrating the holiday with my boyfriend and his family. Last night they opened sibling gifts and Dustin and I exchanged one present and we all ate a tex mex feast before changing into pj’s and lounging around.

Today we opened up our gifts to one another, he gave me a lens cleaning kit, new 40mm 2.8 lens and pouch and printed several of my favorite photos in 8×10 and bought us both Shaky Knees Festival tickets for May 2014! He sure knows the way into this photographers heart! I gave him Clark’s desert boots and socks, a Jcrew jacket, Under Armor running shirt, Starbuck’s Christmas blend coffee, sriracha, and Tony’s seasoning.  We’ve already played with the new lens and he’s walking around in his new shoes and jacket over his pj’s, living the good life out here in the suburban countryside!

*if I look cold and bitter it’s because I am, haha, not really just not yet caffeinated and FREEZING!

11347717686_64a566be7b_c Here is what I wore last Saturday while shooting Santa photos at Westside Provisions District’s “TINSEL AND TWINE” event. I wanted to wear a holiday look but keep it comfy since I was dealing with kids all day.  The photos don’t do this top justice because the real beauty of the top is the back which is an open design that sorta looks like lattice, hard to describe but I’ll be sure to post photos of the detailing when it’sNOT cold as all get out!

Never did I ever think I’d be behind the lens shooting photos of kids sitting on Santa’s lap but there isn’t a better atmosphere or bunch of children to work with than atWSPD. I’m there again tomorrow from 11-4 so if you’re around the area, come by and say hi and please bring coffee, thanks!

EGGS

Last night friends and I gathered for a Friendsgiving Feast that was off the wall! Since Dustin’s favorite food is randomly deviled eggs we decided that it should be our contribution. I went for a fancy recipe I found online that had prosciutto, goat cheese and cornichons, recipe is via Pixilated Crumb idea was via a date night at JCT Kitchen over on the Westside.

Aside from our bomb deviled eggs there was a smoked turkey (props to Muriel and Alex who brought the DELISH bird!) casseroles galore (naturally..) handful of pies (my fav was Mallory’s salted honey creation!) and I tried for the first time clam dressing made by the hosts Mr & Mrs Smith. Great time with my closest friends! Tomorrow night is CHVRCHES at Variety and I’m so excited, they’ve been playing on my Spotify NON-STOP!

Happy Thanksgiving Week!
