Alice + Olivia

enjoying the feedback from the Suno post, keep it coming!
///
wanted to share more of my favorites from this year’s Fashion Week:
ALICE + OLIVIA FALL 2011 RTW
when i first viewed this collection i was overwhelmed with excitement, it truly is ready-to-wear and i would wear it all! the designer’s unique presentation of having the models stand on tables and velvet cushioned chairs, also added to the elation. and can we talk about that crown modeling and ceiling tiles in that room-stunning!

this collection stands out to me for many reasons-first off, the colors. some of the looks are muted with fall tones and others have loud colors that pop, it’s a nice mix. the velvet touches definitely stood out, as well as the fur. much like Suno i am very fond of the gold accents used, even in the tights and props. gold for the win, every time! as for the models they choose, another good mix in this presentation, different shapes and all fit their chosen outfit.
also enjoy the thick cat-eye and fire lips, looks good on each one of them. the shoes don’t really thrill me that much, however, some of them have unique toe shapes-the drastically pointed and square detail are fun.
being a Fall collection its packed with jackets and lovely ones at that, the last one specifically i enjoy. as a whole it’s on the dressier side which i also admire, could definitly see myself in many of these outfits for a fancy date night with my boyfriend. if a favorite had to be chosen overall it’d have to be the plum silk suit with sparkle top, that color had my immediate attention and with the wide-leg trouser and crop top it won me over!
if you HAD to choose a fav, which would it be?

SUNO

i must say that after perusing through the designer’s shows from the Mercedes Benz NY Fashion Week, Suno is my favorite! really loving both Spring 2011 RTW & Fall 2011 RTW mostly due to the patterns and layering but also the SHOES [and via my last post, we all know that’s a big part of outfits for me]

floral prints, esp the GOLD!
silks
layering, done so well
shoes-platforms but i really really loved the strappy sandals in the Spring collection
big pants//rompers
the jewelry, specifically the necklaces
THE HAIR, love the big bee hive//bouffants

Fashion Week Shoe Stalking

courtesy of Refinery29.com
don’t know if you know this about me but-I.LOVE.SHOES!
it’s unfortunate really because i can never wear most the shoes i truely love: heels, wedges, platforms, etc due to foot surgeries and a knee injury. though i do not need any added height, occassionally i would like to be able to pair my outfits with heels as it really livens it up (as well as makes me feel more feminine) but i can only wear what i can, and so i continue to shoe stalk via photos//
leandra-medine-leopard-shoes-mark
The Man Repeller Leandra Medine’s leopard print Miu Miu platforms.

My FAV,
what i love:
they combine so many things i like at the moment: wedge, fringe, unique shape, fur and all in a booty! if they weren’t about to be out of seaon, i would probably hunt them down.

Leandra Medine’s Proenza Schouler booties.
what i love:
the wrap around at the top and little ‘shield-like’ piece it makes
SEE.ORIGINAL.POST

aside from the shoe trend in this post i just realized another: shorter pants (all skinny) and most have either a zipper or rolled up. these trends i am all for!
regarding the shoes themselves-though i reallyREALLY love i could not wear [most] of them due to heel height, nor could i even afford-haha
..but like i said, i do love shoes and these make my heart pound a little harder.

thanks Refinery29 for all the feet stalking during FashionWeek for those of us who can’t make it, one of these days im hoping to be there behind a camera shooting my own photos!

hope everyone enjoyed their Valentines Day! i really wanted to do this post seeing as how it involved LOVE-even though its with an article of clothing and not with a significant other..but i was surprised with tickets to the Georgia Aquarium and was too busy. the boyfriend and i had a really nice day which included a yummy picnic and lots of bike riding as we rode all the way downtown to the aquarium-which is outstanding-totally recommend to all Atlanta visitors and residents.

tonight we are doing the restaurant thing as we opted out yesterday and just made a really nice meal at home, so the LoveDay celebrations continue.

this week i’ll be doing more posts of my fashion week picks, wanted to have time to browse through all my favorite designer’s lines before posting-there are LOTS of goodies
**stay tuned!**

SUNcravings

as im laying here in my dark drafty room with yet another chest cold i can’t help but dream of the sunny days ahead.
and lovely [laid back] outfits like these:
USED FOR BLOG PURPOSES
pairing a girly dress with tough boots is probably my new favorite trend!
and since i found this photo on Refinery 29’s website here are the details of what she is wearing:
“Vintage flower dress I got in San Francisco, a Zara bag I got in Berlin, and Aldo boots.”
USED FOR BLOG PURPOSES
had this photo saved in one of my many “inspiration” photo folders and have wanted to post for ages. really adore her hearts romper (which may be from H&M) and all the other black//white going on. i am on the search for the perfect pair of circle shades, most of the real goodies have been out of my price range but really vintage is preferred.
USED FOR BLOG PURPOSES
and again with the floral + combat boots, like i said-REALLY like this look!
Mr Newton captured this photo magically and it too has been part of my inspiration collection.
for all those other ladies out there stuck inside or bundled up, hope these photos act as the light (or sun) at the end of the winter tunnel!

NYE, Flashback outfit edition

nye_outfit1
here are some better shots of my new hair and the outfit i wore on New Years Eve. normally i don’t condone bare legs in the winter but since Atlanta wasn’t super freezing and i knew i’d be primarily indoors i opted out of wearing tights. thought it would have been too much with this ensemble anyways and wearing leather shorts just seemed to justify the exposed leg action.
just wondering-what do you think of bare legs in the winter??

many things about this outfit excite me-
#1. the vintage sequin cardigan, given to me from my Nana’s collection of clothes while visiting home- it’s super soft on the inside and breathable. i can already tell it’s a new favorite!
#2. the small button i am wearing reading “LF” that my boyfriend surprised me with for Christmas. knowing that he had a button maker i had talked about doing a project for the blog, but being that procrastination is in my genes-never got around to it. he listened and took action and it couldn’t have made me happier! i will be doing a reader giveaway soon that will include a few of them, more colors to come as well!
#3. my leopard boots that are made of real pony-?? hair. not sure of the exact animal the hair//fur has come from i just know they are fabulous! and i scored them for $19.99 at UrbanOutfitters.
#4. lastly, another UO item, my leather Silence & Noise shorts i got from Mom for Christmas. this was my first night taking them out on the town and hasn’t been the last. they are high-waisted and so comfy, plus made of beautiful black leather-im in LOVE!
nye_outfit7
yep, real excited on the new year and my outfit!
