Since I’ve seen countless posts like this, I find comfort in knowing we aren’t the only goobs out in an apple orchards and tree farms, dressed in inappropriate clothing to get that “perfect pic” for a holiday card or blog post…
See our go at it below:
Back in earlier Fall a group of twelve of us went up to North Georgia for a day of BBQ eating and apple picking at B.J. Reece Orchards.
Slaw (Sarah Lawrence) was an apple pickin’ pro! Way more focused than, ahem… ME.
A must visit for anyone around the Atlanta area. And if you’re into it, there’s a nearby mini golf course and swimming pig race (Google it!)
Our friends found this romantic little spot and we couldn’t help but get some photos.
Dawwww
After sweating our bums off we hung out in the market and enjoyed shade and apple flavored everything.
Our haul and a curious Flynny.
Had more than we knew what to do with so I opted to just cook them all and use for various recipes. Started with skinning them, then dicing into small cubes, melted some butter and added vanilla extract, rosemary and a pinch of salt and later used in hand pies and a cobbler-all turned out so yummy!
Onto cutting down our Christmas tree!
This year we did things a little differently. With buying a house and all the expenses that come with that, including furnishing it which I’m so excited to soon share, we had pretty much broken the bank. So even though our tree wasn’t going to have gifts under it and to be honest, we both aren’t the biggest Christmas lovers, we still wanted to at least give our new home a proper tree. Google led us to a cute little farm in Marietta called Coker Farms. They had these beautiful bluish green trees I had never seen before called Carolina blue spruce.
We went with the unique one, duh! You can’t see it in this photo but our tree has these beautiful yellow flowers(?) and little brown acorn looking things. We left it minimal with white lights only so the tree itself could steal the show, no ornaments necessary!
We didn’t send out a Christmas card with our picture on it but if we had, we would have used this one. Sometimes offering to take a photo for a stranger in return for them snapping one for you, turns out pretty dang good!
Good job stud!
Merry Everything to All! Enjoy the day hanging with friends, family and pets!
