Phoenix Illuminated

f1
End of August, Phoenix was set to play at Variety Playhouse, unfortunately when I discovered this, the show was SOLD OUT. later I was told that the afternoon of the show they had arranged to play a free show at Criminal Records (a record/knick knack store). my buddy at work and I left during our lunch break and hightailed it to Little Five for a personal jam session with some cool ass dudes.

hung around this little character
f4
so sentimental, not sentimental no
the tunes were not as poppy nor loud due to the small setting and troublesome speaker system but, damn, I enjoyed every second! Couldn’t even contain myself enough to stand still, and did see a couple other folks bouncing around, though a lot of the folks were chill (it was broad daylight and no booze was involved). . .I  bet the show later that night was crunk
f5
some art to my right, very interestinggg
I didn’t even attempt to get in for the show later that night-which I originally planned to make a sign and hold it outside the venue-it was enough for me until they come around again
and was so thankful to have seen them!
moving along///

here’s a shot of my most recent jewelry purchase from the East Atlanta Village Strut from the lovely lady behind Hot Pink Poo. It’s all made of vintage materials and I’m in love with the wings!
f7
Le Flash was last weekend in the neighborhood and I wish that everyone could have made it out to see the illuminated art. Here’s a description from the website that describes the idea better than I:
an ambient evening of glowing performance and experimental vision

this lady in lace was freaky! she held COMPLETELY still and then grabbed my arm as I walked by! Ashleigh was so frazzled she didn’t see a nearby piece of art and ran right into it, spooky I tell you!

good side/bad side, hahah.
dress-vintage (bought from KJO at the yard sale held months ago-ultra comfy!), leggings-thrifted, shoes & hat-Urban, purse-Michael Kors
f13
this chick wired herself with LED lights and showed them off in the line to the water closet. Ashliegh and I simultaneously gave a “OOOOOOO!”

cargo dancers in the night
f15
they invited the crowd up and one by one we piled in and boogied our booties off!

“Peep Show”

couple buildings down from my front door, this could be seen.
this art show was so brilliant, it’s an annual event so don’t miss it next year!
today I’m visiting Smith’s Olde Bar to watch the game, then it’s onto Ashliegh’s birthday dinner and outing. Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!!

Lotta Lofts

1
September 25th & 26th was Castleberry Hill‘s annual loft walk, Sunday I volunteered and was given a sweet neighborhood tee and a commemorative 80’s replica water bottle, as well as other snacks and swag, AND a free pass to see all the lofts.
Come with me through the tour from start to finish/ / / / /
2
loft #1 was hidden above an old warehouse behind Peters St. and you could def tell the home owner was talented in many ways.

loft #2
different art gallery underneath this next loft:
5
walking up the stairs you can see the old fashioned elevator thing-a-mah-bob to the right, fantastic ceiling architecture, party ball and then when you think it couldn’t get any cooler, BAM
6
part of a freakin airplane! the overhead compartments still work and all! ! !
7
One of the b/e/s/t/ dining rooms around. Check out his collection of vintage Aunt Jemima dolls. oh my, and all the cookie jars! these are my dream cabinets.
8
long view of his living room.
9
he has such a large space, not even including the two art galleries he owns below. jealous yet? if not, check out his ROOF TOP TERRACE. . . . .
10
this is only 1/2, didn’t get a pic of the other side.
11
LOVE LOVE LOVE the doors coming into his place up the stairs leading from main art gallery. his kitchen was to the left coming in, every bit as fabulous.
12
loft #3
this hip pad is on Fair and Peters

16
wine boy informed me that the owner used to be one of the VP’s of Claire’s Accessories and has traveled all over since, living in Paris for around 3 years-obviously collecting fabulous gear.

23
their living room wall pulls up, how innovative!
24
the artwork was the best here. three levels and a terrace all jam packed with color.
25
this was his third “floor” which was extremely tiny, from all angles, and let out to an amazing view (on his roof top party spot) of the entire city.
26
unique art gallery at loft #5, the loft I was not in love with, but I really enjoyed these screen-prints.
27
chandelier at loft #6
ultra pretty!
as for the rest//loft#7 was closed that day & loft #8 just didn’t compare.  I thought there was going to be more than 8 but after taking the tour realized that even hustling through it still it took me about 1.5 hours. Between talking to folks, sipping on wine, peeking behind all the corners, and walking up and down the hills-it was quite exhausting. Such a fabulous experience, and inspiration!

I Wish Wednesday

Since I’m not loaded with $$$$ I’m a frequent “wish list” creator who doesn’t ending up getting even close to half, this is also the case for Ebay and my “watching” list. I suppose it’s fun just browsing around the web looking, watching. . . drooling. . .over items I’ll probably get nor can afford.  Here are some examples///
One
the fluttery sleeves and sequins detail is perfection
Two
great job Left Coast, the lines/structure + cowl are so dreamy!
Three

Five
“Petal to the Metal” is the name of this splendid Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, I wish for it so hard! I told Dusty I was going to get a credit card just for it, he frowned upon that idea.
Six
rainbow druzy is so pretty and this teardrop peacock ring is GORGEOUS!
Loving the pounded gold! ! !
Seven
this Zimmerman dress is slouchy in all the perfect places, love the tiny leopard print.
Eight
Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony.
in the words of Rachel Zoe: I DIE

and lastly, I wish for this ladies entire outfit, look at those two-toned-tights!

so those are a couple of my web wishes, lets see if the October Santa Claus hears my wishes and grants a couple///
Today was sort of awesome, for I got to see Phoenix play a live show at Criminal Records in Little Five during my lunch break and it was on the free! They are playing ((as I’m typing this)) at Variety Playhouse to a sold out venue-hence why I’m sitting on the couch. . .
photos soon so I’ll stop talking about it.
good night!
