Josephine de La Baume

while walking Grits this morning I discovered a hip little coffee/shake&smoothies/eatery down the block called Tilt and later went exploring for a snack without the pouch. Dp and I sat down with some magazines-mine including Loft Living & Elle (May 09) and his a local publication about the happenings after ordering a mid afternoon treat, which I completely recommend-that place is yummy! Flipping through the pages of Elle I came across an article about Josephine de La Baume and was blown away by her style. for example,

looks like she’s at a festival lovin life//

fashionable ladies, article from Vanity Fair “Fortune’s Children”

Chanel show, love those bangs. apparently with Mark Ronson, many articles saying this-never know..
all photos from The Fashionspot && check out Vanity Fair for more photos from article here.
Due to the Southeast experiencing showers galore and ((around these parts)) horrible traffic due to the holiday weekend I am left “trapped”. I use the word trapped sarcastically because I really could go home but would much rather put off the drive a couple more days, even though I still have tons of work to do back home, packing and such//but while I’m “trapped” we are thinking about going through the art walk around here if the weather isn’t so nasty-I have some photos from last nights jazz outing checking out Kevin down the block && will post those here soon. chilly night=last days of wearing my suede boots.

The Times They Are A-Changin

welcome

to our humble abode//Fairside Lofts!

after loads && loads of unpacking, our place is livable!

our bedroom architecture

looking a tad bare, but soon soon it will be c.o.m.p.l.e.t.e.
the next two photos represent our overall color scheme-blue (Dusty’s fav color) and green (my fav) but there’s also yellow mixed in, of course. That green couch nearly had to be split into pieces but as long as we never move again, should be fine. heheh.

this is a set of vintage salt pinches that hold small earrings and things//

don’t believe this two prong hook is vintage but it sure does appear so, found in a cute shop in downtown Northport, Alabama.
We’ve had yet another l.o.n.g. day of settling in but have managed to share lots of laughs and venture around finding a Koger and sorts..

yellow fever

over the past couple of years the color green has been booted out as my fav color and replaced with mustard!

((home sweet home))

another ceremony, another damn breakfast at the Pancake House, another car ride with the family, and finally after riding in several storms with zero visibility we made it to Birmingham.
We ran in and out of a Savannah’s place getting decent from our rides and went to a beautiful wedding at an old mansion in the Highlands of the ‘ham where we danced and celebrated a long awaited event. The groom’s mom plays in a rockin cover band and they performed everything from Tom Petty//Fleetwood Mac//to Guns-N-Roses. Following their final song I hollered for “one more!” and they decided to go with “Rhiannon” ((by Fleetwood Mac)) and invited me in to play the tambourine, a total dream come true! I was ushered to sing but didn’t know the words well enough so I just jammed//

this is what I wore for the commencement ceremony on Saturday at WashU’s Quadrangle, a dress from a boutique called Lotus.

(vintage bag, shoes by Bare Traps, vintage shades and Lucky Brand necklace)

WashU’s campus is so pretty, this castle-like building was to my right for the ceremony and with the clouds it was a dreamy sight to see-as well as most the architecture around.
sorry if my posts seem a bit scrambled, I am literally a traveling nomad at the moment.
