jess_1As I imagined, so far 28 doesn’t feel that different. Althoughhh I do have many sore muscles since the actual night of my birthday I went to Pink Barre with some girl friends for a complimentary workout. If you’re looking for an all around CORE exercise I’d definitely suggest a barre workout class.  I consider myself to be in shape and still struggled with some of the positions and motions. Upon hearing it was my birthday the owner gave me a pink tierra to wear, it was a great time and the most healthy bday yet!

But that’s not to say I didn’t celebrate. Since March 25th fell on a Tuesday we did the celebrating on Saturday the 22nd. That afternoon Dustin surprised me with a gift from Free People that contained the most comfortable, flowy maxi dress I’ve ever worn!  I actually blogged about it here. While the “red” color that I originally wanted wasn’t in stock in my size, I’m much happier with the black since the dress wasn’t actually red and more of a pink. After giving him many hugs and kisses we went to the Bookhouse Pub for a beer and then met up with a group of friends at Nakato for hibachi. The food and atmosphere was great! We partook in a saki bomb and then were off to sing our hearts out at Karaoke Melody on Buford Highway.  We had a medium sized private room, 2 mics, a flat screen tv and 5,000+ songs on an Ipad to our disposal for 3 hours!  Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! My Asian themed birthday was a sweet success!

I’m very excited for tonight’s plans that include a Southern Blogger Society meet-up at Monday Night Brewery AND a mixer at Studio South.  Looking forward to meeting a few local bloggers I haven’t met yet as well as visiting the photography and graphic design studio for some networking. I’m predicting a very tired Friday..

SIGNS OF SPRING

13051179194_883e6d1a4f_bThis weekend’s weather was unbeatable; the perfect balance of sun and cool breezes to keep you warm enough for a thin dress but cool enough not to break a sweat. My weekend was scheduled with fun times and though I was sick I didn’t let it stop me from joining in the activities. Friday we jumped on trampolines at Sky Zone for my girl friends birthday and much to my surprise it was exhausting!  I consider myself in-shape but was shocked at how worn out I got and fairly quickly, though in my defense I was on decongestants which made my heart beat a little faster than normal.  Afterwards we went back into town and had drinks and dinner at Villains in Midtown.  Saturday morning we hung out with the cats, made breakfast and cleaned up around the house. Then I made chicken salad and got my things ready for a Girl Party Picnic in Grant Park. I don’t want to say too much about this, other than it was AWESOME, because I’ll be working on the photos tonight and posting about the event in the next couple of days. Sunday was chores and Spring cleaning ending with rewarding myself with La Fonda chips and salsa, I wore this lovely Cynthia Rowley dress my momma gifted me a couple months back. The color, length and comfort make it a winner!!

13051200204_ba87625246_bI wore a Cynthia Rowley dress, H&M hat, girl friends sunnies, Rag O Rama sandals, MK purse and necklace c/o Free People.

He’s eager to get creative with my photos and it just means so much to me. The “holding the sun” photo above was his idea, be still my heart!  Yesterday’s walk to the restaurant was so nice, especially since I was holding hands with my other half.

End sappiness, HAPPY MONDAY!

worked extra hard this week at the Atlanta Apparel Market so I treated myself to a new dress from the showroom. initially the print caught my eye but quickly realized the asymmetrical detail and knew I’d be taking it home! the ring is also new, straight from Turkey via one of my boss ladies-its pretty big so it fits on either middle, pointer or thumb which I really like.
today is my first day off in what seems like ages. already been to the local farmers market, hung my curtains, and cleaned the up-and-coming living space.
continuing sunday funday times I’m going to the Indie Craft Experience (ICE) in a few, really excited! looking for new artwork and a dream catcher-we’ll see!
enjoy Your sunday!
