June 2012
recently while perusing thru a couple of my favorite e-stores blog’s i noticed i was piling photos on my desktop as they are exactly the asthetic of what im going for with my projects and creative space at the farm. i had to narrow them down to my top favs, hope you too find them inspiring!
(images via Gypsy Warrior, Spell and the Gypsy Collective and Pinterest!)
yesterday at the studio i made a mini “mood board” on an adjacent wall from my desk. since it’s temporary (im putting up a photo studio space in the same spot) i used my neon ducktape!
all photos are from my Diana, 35mm, or Polariod..well minus the one of my folks (i wasn’t alive yet…)
HAPPY FRIDAY!

around the farm at which my art studio is located:
my summer uniform to battle the Southern heat:
a very THIN verrrrry vintage dress from Highland Row Antiques, Frye sandles, Target backpack and neon bra, vintage sunglasses
THE GARM FARM —> once specializing in cotton-related machinery and later producing ammunition and mortars during World War II, now is a creative center for visual and performing arts including residential and commercial spaces. it truly is an inspiring place to escape to!
originality lives here, along with thick haired over-heated Southern ladies
not that im a super heavy photo editor but i specifically didn’t edit this one [above] and the picture like it [below] because i thought it came out just the way i envisioned.

have a GREAT weekend Y’all, stay hydrated!
really excited to share my newest adventure with the artsy folks of
Common Creativ!
in a nutshell the site is a group of Atlanta-based artistic professionals coming together and covering all things creative in our city. my column is called DIY + DRINK which is a monthly instructional write-up of a project including tips and tricks + a tied in drink recipe.
for the first post i did a little gardening project with some succulents as well as gave general information on indoor gardening.
▶▶▶ first things first-check out the yummy drink i crafted-
h
▶▶▶ extremely easy and so refreshing (one might consider it healthy..?)
to see the finished result as well as the Common Creativ editors and i enjoying a few cold ones-click
HERE.
▶▶▶ next is the mini succulent center piece, windowsill or mantel art:
▶▶▶ few cheap ingredients…
▶▶▶ seperated the rocks by colors, got real ocd with it but the turn out was pretty cool! though if i were to do it over i’d use much larger pebbles, you could even use seaglass, shells or anything else you have in quantity-get crafty!
▶▶▶ the left-most little guy is a “living rock” so if you really lack a green thumb scoop up one of these. he was given to me on my birthday from Erin of
Imagination Head and is still thriving with little to no attention! the specific plants you choose will determine their location in your home, mine are in a window seal for optimal light.
▶▶▶ please visit
CommonCreativAtlanta(dot)com and check out my story in full as well as other the other stories written by fellow crafty Atlanta locals!
▶▶▶ do feel free to wind down on this Hump Day evening with a Lady Flashback Mother Earth Mojito!

this past weekend i attended one of my favorite events in Alabama
at the beautiful Tannihill State Park called the Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show.
though this trip was my 3rd year i had a different mission than just perusing for personal bargains, i was on the hunt for SUPPLIES.
in my previous post i mentioned that i have projects in the works and for these projects i needed to scout out some beads, bones, fur, stones, trinkets as well as pendants. trust me, i hit the jackpot!
i scooped up a bolo tie for myself, it’s not pictured but is pretty darn cool. the main piece is an arrow head with a pendant in the center with foolsgold flacks inside and the tie is khaki and the caps are gold.
hippy wizard heart throb!
my look- Michael Kors dress, Anthropologie hat, vintage bag
his look- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles belt buckle, vintage hat, magic
little fish kept inching closer and closer, think he was posing for the picture! // was super jealous of these kids and had thoughts about joining
this sweet mineralogist showed me a gorgeous mineral wrap that a friend gifted her, i thought her flare was super rad and asked if i could be in the rock club.
fine Southern concessions // fresh water shells
Zuni ring i picked up from my last trip to the show a few years back.
here’s some of my loot! pre-shopping my aunt July gave me loads of cool stuff like the antlers, geese feathers and stones-all acquired from their land in Alabama. the fur, water buffalo teeth and some of the crystals i bought plus there is supplies not photographed. also picked up a few strands of the howlite dyed skulls which will come in handy especially for the dream catchers
…..can’t wait to get to CRAFTING!
