AntiqueAdventures

A_A_1
since the snow storm we atlantans have been waiting patiently for some sunny days and low and behold-we received! naturally Kristie and i took advantage of the enjoyable temperatures and went around town hitting up some of the best antique shops such as Paris on Ponce, Scarlet Loves Retro and the Fainting Couch. my objective was to find the perfect desk for a small space in my bedroom and while i didn’t go home with the price-winner, i know there is the right one at the right price out there…somewhere…
needless to say we had a good time, here are some snaps of the adventure//

i am so so so so so so so so so so SO excited to finally be able to wear my Lucky boots that were a Christmas gift from mom! you see the day after NYE i broke a small toe on my right foot and since then it’s been comfort shoes only, which is not all that fun when you love to dress up. now the little guy is healed and i can sport these amazing green boots i’ve been dying to take for a spin-what do you think???
another [green] item i am ecstatic about is this jacket Kristie found at a yard sale and actually got on the free. when she came home and showed me i was ALL about it, begging her to trade it with something-anything of mine..she agreed and said we’d figure it out later-such a lovely friend i have ! :)) !

after spotting a shopper at UO wearing a very similar version of this coat all casual-like i’ve since decided it doesn’t need to be a super fancy night to bring it out. it’s no longer going to sit lonely in my closet just because it’s glamourous, i had fun wearing it to dinner and drinks as well as around town the next day.

a southern blizzard with a cup-O-tea

as some of you have seen on the nightly news-Atlanta residents have experienced the worst snow storm in 15yrs and to many this meant a week off of school//work-BUT for me this meant bundling up and slipping on ice all the way to le’job!
here is what i wore and survived on during Snowpocalypse:
IMG_3781
sweater, hat and jeggings: H&M, jacket and tee: Urban, purse, boots and belt: vintage, deer antler necklace: gift from Miss Emma Key
IMG_3752
mom gave me this mug for Christmas that is just adorbs and it’s been filled to the brim with warmth making it through SNOLANTA’s nuttiness.

hope everyone’s 2011 winter is going swell so far…mine includes lots and lots of work that southern snow can’t even get in the way of, apparently.

NYE, Flashback outfit edition

nye_outfit1
here are some better shots of my new hair and the outfit i wore on New Years Eve. normally i don’t condone bare legs in the winter but since Atlanta wasn’t super freezing and i knew i’d be primarily indoors i opted out of wearing tights. thought it would have been too much with this ensemble anyways and wearing leather shorts just seemed to justify the exposed leg action.
just wondering-what do you think of bare legs in the winter??

many things about this outfit excite me-
#1. the vintage sequin cardigan, given to me from my Nana’s collection of clothes while visiting home- it’s super soft on the inside and breathable. i can already tell it’s a new favorite!
#2. the small button i am wearing reading “LF” that my boyfriend surprised me with for Christmas. knowing that he had a button maker i had talked about doing a project for the blog, but being that procrastination is in my genes-never got around to it. he listened and took action and it couldn’t have made me happier! i will be doing a reader giveaway soon that will include a few of them, more colors to come as well!
#3. my leopard boots that are made of real pony-?? hair. not sure of the exact animal the hair//fur has come from i just know they are fabulous! and i scored them for $19.99 at UrbanOutfitters.
#4. lastly, another UO item, my leather Silence & Noise shorts i got from Mom for Christmas. this was my first night taking them out on the town and hasn’t been the last. they are high-waisted and so comfy, plus made of beautiful black leather-im in LOVE!

New Years Eve via Lady Flashback!

Hey there blog babies! I’m super excited to welcome a new girl to our team- Lady Flashback! Check out her own sweet blog here and stay tuned for her fashion musings, party pix and general Flashback magic. Her first round of party photos are up in the photo gallery, so check them out! Plus our newest Darlin will be shooting Hot and Sticky this Thursday at Eastside Lounge, so please give her unicorn kisses and make her feel super welcome! – Sarah

As a huge fan of Sorry,Darlin I was thrilled when Sarah approached me about collaborating efforts with her blog and mine, LadyFlashback.com. I have been blogging about fashion, photography, home decor, parties, DIY, and all things vintage for over 3 years now. Relocating to Atlanta has opened up many doors for me in the internet world as well as nightlife. Just last month my blog was awarded the superlative for “Hip Style Blog” in Atlanta Magazine, see the article here. Being a long time fan of photography it dawned on me that shooting parties professionally was my calling since I was already taking 100+ photos any given weekend. This opportunity to shoot with Sorry,Darlin blows my mind, extremely excited for adventures to come!

Our first experience together just so happened to be NYE, what a purrrfect night to shoot for the VERY FIRST TIME-huh?!?!

The Darlin ladies and I agree-it went marvelous, take a look for yourself over at the photo gallery.

Here are my top 11 favorites of the night we rang in 2011 at MJQ
