favs FRYday

took me long enough but im finally posting ((some)) of my favs from the Atlanta Photographers Guild shoot back in June. this is outfit #1, so there are two more outfits to come! can’t really choose a favorite outfit because all three were different and fun ((and ALL vintage!!)) but this one was “so me” and i really love this top, purchased in San Diego-senior year of college-for literally $1 and hoarded up until this shoot, i was esp excited to bring it out to play!
by mathew smith
i can, however, choose a favorite photo…which is ▲▲▲ ((above))…shot by Matthew Smith under ShadowBoxerPhoto.com ((his site)). he climbed up top of this random trailer thing to get the photo and it proved to be worth the risk! really love the angle-go Matt!
by MSHI
choose a bunch of MSHI’s photos, because they too are all very good. above and below are shot by Adam-also very talented-his flickr HERE
another from MSHI

Jess
his photos were great from the last shoot too! above and below by Glen, his photostream HERE

another by MSHI ! !
argo road images
these last two by Mister Wombat under Argo Road Images. We both got a kick out of using the billboard as a backdrop, which oddly, no one else thought to do. Good eye Brian! His flickr HERE.

well, what do you think of outfit #1?? i wouldn’t typically wear such a short crop top, which is probably why it sat in my drawer for so long, but with high-waisted shorts it didn’t make me uncomfortable at all. this is a new look i’ve been sporting more and more, a little tumtum never hurt anyone :))
enjoy the hell out of your weekend ladies, i will be posting photos of last week’s HEAVY next so check back-they are goodies!

thrifting FLASHBACK

about a week or so ago i stopped into a local thrift store just to “browse” and was pleasantly surprised with my finds///and i think you’ll agree: pretty fabulous!
LF5
this vintage Neiman-Marcus dress cost a whopping $4.99 just needed a couple inches taken off, which i let the dry cleaners do since i do not stitch silk which added $12 bringing the total cost under $20, THAT i can handle. love the print!
L6
L57
especially like this Forever 21 dress, for many reasons: beading, the cut, and COST-$3.99. it’s so comfortable, although just slightly big in the arm holes, since it’s a large, but no doubt close to perfection. i plan to give it a nautical feel when i decide to wear it out.
LF8
LF9
this vintage Jones New York top is a little big too but really that’s why i liked it so much, i can wear it baggy with a bandeau bra underneath, paired with some jeggings and i’ve got a devine dancing outfit! believe this top was $2.99, DEALZ DEALZ DEALZ!
lastly, while perusing through housewares i found this vintage Italian pasta tin, i took photos of all four sides because they are different and all super lovely. tried looking it up via Google but just got a couple websites of people selling similar pieces from the collection-which i may have to get, loving the colors and illustrations, goes so well with our kitchen too!
ps//i moved!!! the apartment is HUGE and finally finished. will be posting photos soon!

picked the dress up from the cleaners and realized they took off a little more than i would have liked, BUT it still works, just gotta be careful :))
this vintage brown purse has been pictured before but a month or so ago the strap broke from wear-n-tear and i finally got it fixed. since i only paid .99 cents for it investing a little money in the repair didn’t seem like a big deal, it’s so perfect for going out cause it’s small but has loads of room so i couldn’t just toss it out.
LF2
the necklace((s)) i picked up at the pop up sale last week-Bodega-it’s vintage and amazing. it’s something like four gold chains and seems to weigh about a pound-no joke-so heavy! def going to be a new staple necklace!!! the ring is from a boutique in Alabama, Everyday Indulgence, it’s a gold butterfly with a yellow stone of sort in the middle. so beautiful but kinda annoying to wear so it only leaves the house for special occasions. the little pomPOMs are also a new fav, given to me at the Natural Life showroom, they have a clip && key ring and can be used for anything. i like using them as flare, soooo cute!
LF3
LF4
went out with some lady friends for an Italian ((whites)) wine tasting in Decatur, Sarah being one of them. she wore this really amazing white lace vintage dress that went so well with her thick black bangs, you go girl!
well, i hope you can agree that i def lucked out finding such awesome pieces for so cheap! i wish you all the best in your thrifting adventures,
have a splendid Monday

Girls of Summer

it’s about time i take a [short] break from posting photos of my friends and i throwing down and actually share some of the inspirational photos i’ve been hoarding on my desktop for weeks! after looking over my selection i realized that they were all fabulous females and they all were cohesive with the vibes of my summer so far:
vintage ((as always))
girly
bright ((but will little bits of black))
super big sunnies
high-waisted

this first one is actually a personal friend who posted photos of her travels to the West Indies on FB and i just FELL IN LOVE with this particular outfit. it’s a vintage 1950’s swimsuit, belt is Free People, and glasses are vintage as well. look at her beautiful hair too, overall: perfection.

give me oversized, everything.
hair.
shades.
crop tops.
yum.

this photoshoot entirely was amaze, but since everyone and their sister posted…i picked my fav, which was of course the cool neon, psychedelic print! all the jewelry was to.die.for.

this snap is from Faboulista’s uber chic blog, really enjoyed her mix of patterns && shapes in this outfit-which she always does so well//view more lovely photos ((HERE))

my kind of festival attire! !

think i actually had these shorts in 5th grade, if only i saved! !

♥ the shades…♥the top…♥the skirt…♥…the stacked bangles-what a great outfit styled by the ladies @@ Nasty Gal Vintage!!

picnic blanket, woods, freedom..all a summer m.u.s.t.

lead singer of Edward Sharp && the Magnetic Zeros @@ Coachella, if i could steal those perfectly broken in shoes RIGHT OFF her feet, i would. she’s such a cutie!

was almost a california girl.
atlanta gal is fine with me though!
i actually have a vintage postcard with these shoes photographed on the front, they would be a splendid addition to my wardrobe even if they just sat on a shelf for me to stare at all.day.long.

yummy.ruffles.

all-american summer.

that’a girl wearing that SPF!! which i partake in on a daily basis, gotta protect the fairness.. her color combo is really unique, cream and burnt orange-i will HAVE to try.

i literally had this photo on my desktop for WEEKS, and would open it and just stare. these ladies know.what’s.up. authentic 80’s and so so so good. two middle chicks are my favorites, esp in the white hat that appears to say “Rush” and if she’s referring to the band-EVEN BETTER!

this photo reminds me of hanging out with my buddies as a younger lady, listening to the loud bugs && hoping we didn’t get called in to come home on a late.hot.sticky summer night.

welcome to the weekend, hope you find some summer time inspiration from my collection of randoms, as well as enjoy your Friday!

//Natural Life//

hello friends! sorry for the absence lately, worked the retail market downtown at America’s Mart ((three skyscrapers filled with everything retailers need to fill their shops!! aka, a fashionista’s dream!!)) and have been exhausted. also helped celebrate a friend’s birthday, which lasted 2.75 days, haha!
so now i’m back…full force…and wanted to share a little bit of my market adventure! i’m actually kinda bummed because i only snapped photos on the last day…but really liked all the outfits i wore on the other days ((4 total working days, 10+ hours each!)) oh well, here is the showroom for Natural Life: a line of fun gifts, accessories, kitchenware && more all with a bohemian flare. my friend liz hooked me up with the position as showroom sales ((she works for the company over in Florida)) assisting women pick && choose their next shipment for their small businesses. i got to meet ladies from boutiques, hospital && college gift shops, tea rooms, card shops and other small businesses. pretty neat experience!
take a peak///

from afar///
n2
the pomPOM key rings//flare were my favs! got to take a couple home!! :))
n3
my fellow temp, Quentin
ps//i got a haircut, cut off A LOT actually but this day i did nothing to it, let it 1/2 air dry so it’s not a good representation of how it normally looks, because i often curl, but legit photos coming soon!
n4
there are many crafty ladies behind the small company, i had the pleasure of meeting && working with Patti-the mastermind behind Natural Life. v.e.r.y. sweet lady indeed!
n5
loved all the vintage props, not pictured is a really great vintage suitcase with a flower painted on it..may have to ‘borrow’ that idea :))
n6
should have kept count, but my guess is that i heard the word “CUTE” 3,024,015 times. no joke.
n7
this display was the best, the pomPOMS added with the collage tops-adorbs!!
n8
the bags in the bottom right corner are a new item, created after Patti’s inspiration trip to India, they are perfect for all sorts of uses.
n9
Liz!
a little bit about our friendship…we actually went to high school in Maryland and were the best best of friends. when together we were so goofy && shared so many adventures, but after my parents moved from MD my freshman year of college and she went off to school we didn’t see one another for nearly 4 or so years, but kept in touch. well when she found out about market in ATL and asked if i wanted in we got to reunite! it really was like we picked up where we left off, no awkwardness..just back to the old Jess && Liz ways. ((haha, making this so cheesy but it really is a fun story and a wonderful experience for me, esp bc i’ve been in a military family and so often have to leave my friends…never to see them again…so this was AWESOME!)) now we are planning the next trip because this is one chick i def want in my life for good!
n10
i am so getting one of those bike horns, although they annoyed the hell out of us, it would be soooo cute on my vintage road bike i’m beginning to fix up!
n11
natural liiiiiiife!
the last day was “the hangover” day, as liz and i went to an inaugural ball awarding such retailers such as the ladies behind Anthropologie, owner of Kirklands, and others…after a performance by Michael McDonald-from the Doobie Brothers!! we then we hit up the Graveyard tavern for Down&&Dirty, needless to say-utterly pooped….so i sported my comfy vintage mexi-tunic w/Free People legging shorts. felt like i was wearing a night gown!
still playing catch-up on sleep//rest//sobriety, but i have so much more to share so keep checking back!
loves.
