while attending a recent garage sale in the neighborhood I stumbled upon two Barneys catalogs from fall 08 & s/s 09. total pain-in-the-ass to scan all these with the thickness of the paper and set up at the parental’s house but it’s so worth it to show all of you! spotted these and thought, man, so many ladies would DIE for these items//take a looksie.

home from traveling, gearing up for a busy busy week.

mmm day.

y’all!
Today we went out to the Wilson Cabin on the Black Warrior River to enjoy good ole southern cooking, fires, frisbee, youngins, loving family and lots of laughter. We have now made the cabin a tradition after completing our 5th year of returning to the wooded get away, and there are noooo complaints here. The weather was everything one could ask for for a late November day-chilly but warm in the sun or pushing around a 2yr old on a tractor! I truly adore this time of year just to be able to see all the family I have had to neglect in years past while moving all over the country.  guess that’s what I’m thankful for, the fam.
couple more days in Bamaland && tomorrow is one of the biggest football games of the year-for my University-and we will definitely be throwing down! I’m going to do a football post soon of my outfits from games past, hehe, everyone gets pretty into it in my neck of the woods but I’m not a super fan or anything-just like to wave my pom pom :)
Have a lovely night ladies!!

speaking of

Adrienne and her photography, last weekend was a push pin photography sale/show here in the hood over at The Big House Gallery and guess who won “best in show”? Yep, second row, far left is the beauty that won. We attended last minute, but just in time for me to snatch up my fav, second row, far right. now I just need to find the perfect frame.

one happy customer!
I called this outfit a “rough draft” since I plan to take off 5-7 inches from the bottom and also want to rip the tights up way more making them like webs. but for this particular night it seemed to work.

-sorry. that’s way cheesy, but I actually did like the song, way back when, and thought it was mildly appropriate.

prior to capture, a dog got away from it’s owner and was harassing me, meanwhile we’re trying to not be awkward taking this random ass photo around several pedestrians. good times. you can’t see them but there’s actually tropical plants around me. . .

Adrienne is a friend of mine, also from Alabama, and actually lives in a radass loft down the street. She has a love for all things black, photography, fashion and her cat Windsor (who falls in the all things black category. . )  Something I find real cool is that she uses expired film (like above) which may or may not always turn out like planned but it sure is unique! We took these shots randomly and were only yelled at once. ha, the results were fun.

straight chillin.

today DP and I had brunch at java jive on Ponce where we enjoyed delicious buttermilk pancakes w/cinnamon butter and a mochachinno. the small restaurant was filled with the best 30’s-70’s kitchenware/vintage decor, I was in heaven! afterwards we bought some wall hardware and hung our shelves and spiced up the dinning room with some of my own vintage decor. for dinner we cooked up the fresh salmon-in parchment paper, asparagus, and jalapeno cheese grits that we picked up at the whole foods that we just discovered, major jackpot having that close! along with chilling out and watching a movie or two, we got in a little frisbee time and some housework accomplished. overall a grrand sunday!
