The Sounds

DSCN7781
The Sounds played at Variety Playhouse on Saturday night and man did they ROCK OUT! It was everything one could possibly ask for, they played all the songs I wanted to hear and put on a great show.  Maja had the best jewelry and a tube top romper that was ultra fabulous on her tiny body. Took around 60 some odd photos but only a few turned out good, they never stopped moving!

dress: thrifted H&M, sequin jacket:bought long ago, but never worn, from the consignment shop I used to work at-Twice As  Nice-by designer Jenny Han, boots: vintage, purse: unknown, hand-me-down. .
this is what I wore, would have picked different shoes but we walked to the venue and feared getting wet so these served as rain boots.

this is what I wore out Friday night to a house party with Ashleigh in Grant Park. couple bands. couple kegs. and a cover of Shake Down Street (Grateful Dead) that made my night.

shirt: H&M, skirt: Urban, boots: vintage, purse: Michael Kors
kinda bummed you can’t see the studding detail on my new H&M shirt/tunic, but I’m sure it will get worn again in the near future.
As I hoped this weekend was great.

fashion fashion

Collected some photos from NYFW via Style.com, Style Sightings, as well as a newly discovered site, Altamira featuring photos of off-duty models. take a lookie of some of my inspirations, notice a pattern?

everyone loved the side braids at A. Wang’s show, I immediatly sported the look, only around my house so far, but def going to style again soon. although I did loose an inch or so yesterday so it may be a minute, pleased with the cut though. . . .

could I have put enough blazers in this post?!? so obsessed, but have NOT found the perfect one, and am holding out until I do. Speaking of blazers, my boss brought a pile of crappy old clothes to work to try and give them away to the guys, well of course I rummage through and find two blazer jackets by designer Lanvin! score. totally snatched them up for either a menswear inspired look or a gift to a skinny dude friend. . .whichever. .
altamira
another photo from Altamira’s site, &&& these ladies know what. is. up.
not talking about their hair either, which is awesome, a look that is quite easy for me
-frizzy hair-
blackfabulousness for sure!

here are some of the others from the shoot back in late August (outfit two) I wore a vintage hippie frock, a gift from Savannah, borrowed Urban Outfitters hat, and vintage jewelry. For this portion of the shoot I was sitting on a stool next to ‘hot lights’ and the photographers mainly focused on the waist up and face. thought they turned out well, such talented folks!
man, what a lame ass weekend. most plans fell through and it rained the WHOLE TIME. there were a couple highlights:
▵▵Dusty treating me to the yummiest breakfast over at Ria’s Bluebird in Grant Park. I had the buttermilk pancakes topped with caramelized bananas with a delicious chai tea (my current favorite beve!)
▵▵hitting up the East Atlanta Village strut and meeting a cutie vintage dealer
▵▵sharing a few smiles with Dusty, sipping on our cider beers outside the Earl
▵▵going on the run I just went on, yay for exercise.
and that’s it.
I am looking forward to this weekend, The Sounds are playing at the Variety Playhouse, and I’m super stoked. not looking forward to getting the flu shot tomorrow at work, however, but maybe I won’t get sick-again. pretty sure I’ve already had the flu but who knows, may as well take the precaution, especially when it’s free.
cheers ladies!

mushroom delight

what a long,
 rainy day
glad to be relaxing and going to keep this short and take a warm bath, wind down, and get some much needed rest. below is an outfit I wore attending the 3yr anniversary party down the street at Wasabi {sushi}

featuring my newly purchased DKNYC heels! They are so fun, I really fell for the two-toned black leather and wood.
DSCN7719
while lodging in the Blue Ridge mountains last week, walking around, we discovered so many species of mushrooms. I mean to tell you there were shrooms EVERYWHERE, of ALL KINDS.  I was in heaven, running around like a little girl squealing whenever I found one better than the last. snapped pictures of a couple but there were 100’s so that would have been a little nutty to try and get them all.

Yes Please!

I’ll take all of Alice + Olivia‘s 2o1o collection of nude, black, grey and glittery perfection. Take a look for yourself. . . .
alice-and-olivia01
the outfit on the right is great, especially those wedges. i’ve been wanting to try this style of trousers but worry that my curves may prove it to be unflattering. hopefully I’ll find a cheaper pair at H&M or something to experiment with.
alice-and-olivia2
in particular-those jeans, more particular-the color!
alice-and-olivia3
Loving the sleeves but also those two-tones slacks///\\\the set up of this show is adorable, wouldn’t mind having the props around my place, that flower, so cute.
alice-and-olivia4
this would be a perfect outfit for a night out, minus those sky high wedges, although they are super hot-i could not walk in those bad boys.
alice-and-olivia5
this 80’s-esque dress is so fun, and her rockin hair makes me want my bangs back although I have vowed to grow them out. the look will never get old.
alice-and-olivia6
ok, so I love anything slouchy and this RULES TO THE MAX. are those dangly jewel strands??? if so, wow.
alice-and-olivia07
&& lastly. . .really enjoying the peeptoe heels on the right and the jacket on the left. both grey, which is a color I’m adding more of to my wardrobe for sure this season.  Black is another color I’ve been trying to incorporate more of, which is something I try to do every couple of years but don’t ever make that big of a dent in my collection. Well since I’ve already went on a mini shopping spree gaining a grey top, 2 black tops, black skirt and two pairs of black heels-I’d say that’s a start &&& a quick finish since the funds were severely depleted.
