Big Easy

The story behind this Dolce & Gabbana jacket is pretty cool, but don’t laugh.  My mom and I scored this beauty at an auction last year ((posted here)) and it came with an autographed photo of Susan Sarandon because she had been in possession of the jacket for some time.
((when she was a tad younger)).  The proceeds went to breast cancer research and I took it home, with a huge smile.  After hanging in my closet for over a year, I finally wore it out.  Have I said that I’m a total clothes stash-away-er, saving them for the perfect mood.  Anyways, my boyfriend and pal went out for sushi and drinks last night and I guess I was in that perfect mood.
Also wanted to mention my NYE plans, which are in full and I m.u.s.t. get my crap in the car (!!!) Dusty and I are heading to New Orleans for three crazy nights of Big Easy FUN!!!!! We are staying in a sweet little hostel right by Magazine St. and will be bunking with 10 others!
Happy New Years!!

Yesterday my pal Kjo and I went for an extreme bike ride around town. Before hand I was cleaning and sewing around the house and wanted something comfy. (went with about) This shirt was passed down to me due to a purchase that was non-exangeable from H&M, thanks Dp :)) Sorry your looked like a gay sailor.  hehe, it’s long enough to cover the bum and kinda be a dress, which is surprising cause I’m tall. Today has been swell, running errands and shooting for the Ebay store.
Be sure to check

Lingering Holidays

Sunday afternoon I traveled to Birmingham to see an old friend, Kelsey, and check out her new home.  It was a great visit, as anticipated, complete with Blue Moon, Chinese food, and laughter.  I gave her the Christmas gift I crafted, made from a vintage dish towel turned pillow decoupage card.

For the ride and relaxing night I wore a chill outfit that was extra comfy.

hazy shade of winter

I bought this Calvin Klein dress months ago and like most of my best purchases hoarded it until I felt it was time. Yesterday went to see a movie with my folks and then met up with some friends and went out for some drinks and tunes.

I love the shiny grey material of this dress and the sleeves that can be buttoned shorter or left down. (Below)

It was 60 some odd degrees so there was no need for tights but I am going to try it a with a different twist.

Life’s Easy in the Country

Past couple of days have been really slow paced involving lots of internet surfing, TV watching, family time, and food consumption.  Christmas Eve day we went out to my aunt and uncles place which is a small farm and exchanged presents with my mom’s side and ate some finger foods.  I took some photos of the fun critters we played around with and even got to see my chicken who now lives with them, again….

They weren’t that friendly.

The chicken-thing on the right was really annoying and was screaming the whole time.
